Former Orlando Pirates, now Mamelodi Sundowns player, Thembinkosi Lorch and his babymama and actress Natasha Thahane have called it quits. The controversial celebrities announced their break-up earlier today in a short social media statement.In the statement shared by Natasha she said: “Thembinkosi Lorch and I have mutually decided to part ways romantically. Despite the change in our relationship, we will remain friends and co-parents.
The reason behind their breakup is unknown. Lorch and Natasha’s relationship came to light in 2021 after the pair was spotted together on a baecation in Zanzibar. The stars never confirmed their relationship but Natasha announced her pregnancy in March 2022 and gave birth to their son a month later.
The two stars are known for their controversies with Thahane having have caused an uproar on social media when she claimed that she received a R1 million bursary from the Department of Arts and Culture through former Parliament Speaker Baleka Mbete to study film in New York in 2021. She later made a u-turn on her statement, claiming that she never received any funding from the department. On the other hand, her baby daddy Lorch got a suspended sentence and a R100 000 fine for assaulting his ex-girlfriend Fundiswa Nokuphiwa Mathithibala in September 2020. Lorch was also declared unfit to possess a firearm under the Firearms Control Act by the Randburg Magistrates Court in November last year.
He was charged and convicted of assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm for strangling and hitting Mathithibala four three years ago. Mathithibala told the court that Lorch came home late one night, she asked the footballer where he had disappeared for six hours and an argument ensued. Lorch then slapped, strangled and sat on top of her while she lay on the ground.
