Tips on how to take care of your skin in the heat

0

Summer is here and we’ve already had a few scorching hot days. You know those days when all you want to do is chill in a cool spot and do as little as possible. Unfortunately, that isn’t always possible so we have to grin and bear the heat.

During such days it is important to take extra care of our skin to prevent damage easily caused by excessive heat and sun exposure.

Here’s how you should take care of your skin when temperatures soar.
Protection is key

The first and most crucial step in caring for your skin during hot weather is applying sunscreen 30 minutes before stepping outside. Don’t forget to reapply every two hours, especially if you’re sweating or swimming.

Choose lightweight fabrics

To prevent your skin from overheating, opt for lightweight and breathable fabrics such as cotton and linen.

Synthetic fabrics such as polyester tend to hold odour and moisture inside.

Cleanse gently

Opt for a formula that removes excess oil and sweat without stripping away essential moisture.

Avoid using hot water, as it can further dry out your skin. Instead, opt for lukewarm or cool water to refresh and calm your skin.Hydrate intensively

Hot weather can cause increased water loss through sweating, leading to dehydration.

Opt for a moisturiser that provides ample hydration without clogging pores.

Look out for water-based formulations that absorb quickly.

Cool down

If you’ve spent too much time in the sun, take cool showers to lower your body temperature and soothe your skin.

However, for some people, January can be financially challenging, and going vegan can be expensive. Here are tips on how you can try a vegan diet, even if you’re on a tight budget. Plan your meals and make a list One of the most effective ways to stick to a budget is to plan your meals in advance.

This allows you to choose affordable ingredients and prevent unnecessary purchases. Take some time each week to create a meal plan and make a shopping list based on what you already have.

This way, you’ll avoid buying items you don’t need and reduce food waste.
.Embrace seasonal and local produce Seasonal produce is not only fresher and tastier, but it’s also usually more affordable. Farmers’ markets are great places to find local and seasonal fruits and vegetables at reasonable prices.Opt for budget-friendly protein sources

Protein is an essential part of a balanced vegan diet, and fortunately, there are plenty of affordable options available.

Legumes like lentils, chickpeas, and beans are excellent sources of protein and can be used in various dishes, such as soups, stews, and salads.Cook from scratch

Preparing your meals from scratch is not only cost-effective; it also allows you to have full control over the ingredients you use.

Avoiding processed vegan convenience foods and making your own sauces, dressings, and snacks will not only save you money but also improve the overall quality of your meals.

Real Madrid 4-1 Barcelona

0

Real Madrid 4-1 Barcelona. A first half hat trick from Vinicius Junior inspired Real Madrid to famous El Clasico win over Barcelona in the Supercopa de Espana final.

The Brazilian capitalised on a horrid outing from the Barca defence to bag his three goals, before Rodryo Goes capped off the scoring in the second half for Madrid.

Ronald Araujo also saw red in the second half too in what was a disastrous evening for Barca in Saudi Arabia.

Inside the opening seven minutes, Real Madrid broke the deadlock. Jude Bellingham caught out the once airtight Barcelona backline with a lovely slide through ball into the path of Vinicius Junior and, after drifting into the box and then around Inaki Pena, the Brazilian tapped casually into the empty net to make it 1-0.

Just two minutes later, amazingly, it was 2-0. Once again Los Blancos capitalised on some utterly shocking defensive play by Barca when Rodrygo stormed into the box completely unmarked before squaring to Vini, who slid in at the back post to bundle the ball over the line.

Barca finally showed some signs of life at the other end of the park after going two goals behind, with Ferran Torres hitting the crossbar with a sumptuous volleyed-effort from outside of the box and Robert Lewandowski forcing Andriy Lunin into a save at his near post after Madrid failed to clear their lines.

After a sustained period of pressure, La Blaugrana were able to get a goal back in the 33rd minute through Lewa. The 35-year-old exemplified perfect technique to make it 2-1, volleying brilliantly into the bottom right corner of the net from just outside of the box.

Quite soon after however, Madrid went up the other end and restored their two-goal lead.

Los Blancos’ third goal came courtesy of Vinicius, with the talented forward capping off his hat trick after winning a penalty off of the woefully out-of-form Ronald Araujo before slotting past Pena.

After going 3-1 down, Barcelona were able to retain possession but without ever really looking like threatening Madrid’s backline. In a bid to turn the game, Xavi Hernandez turned to his bench on hour mark to bring on Joao Felix, Fermin Lopez and Lamine Yamal, and judging by the fact that Barca conceded again three minutes later, it’s fair to say that they didn’t have the intended impact.

Barca’s defence was once again torn apart quite Madrid’s incisive runs in behind, with a sweeping move from right to left culminating in Vinicius finding Rodrygo with a low cross, and the latter firing into the back of the net.

Clearly frustrated at being ran ragged by Vinicius, Ronald Araujo was sent off in the 71st minute after taking a lump out of the talented Brazilian’s ankle.

It was a fitting end to what was a disastrous night for Barca.
