Meek Mill Dragged Over ‘Sus’ Sixers Game Outfit

0

Meek Mill has been roasted over an outlandish outfit that he wore to the Philadelphia 76ers’ playoff game against the New York Knicks. The Philly rapper attended Thursday night’s (May 2) contest wearing a tight-fitting long-sleeved top that was partially see-through, paired with baggy leather shorts.

Meek Mill

The ensemble, which Meek posted himself on Instagram, led to an abundance of jokes being made at his expense, particularly after he was accused of having a sexual relationship with Diddy.

One person joked in the comments section: “The shirt ain’t helping the accusations,” while another said: “Meek bro I’ve been tryna defend these allegations to my homies but this zesty shirt ain’t helping.”

Someone else compared Meek to openly gay rapper Saucy Santana: “Why was he outside dressed like Saucy Santana?”

A fourth user joked: “Philly lost twice in the same night,” referencing the Sixers’ 118-115 loss to the Knicks that eliminated them from the first round of the playoffs.

Meek Mill

Meek later responded to the jokes on his Instagram Stories, writing: “The propaganda doesn’t even want me wearing Rick lol,” referencing the designer Rick Owens.

The MMG rapper previously denied he was gay after he matched the description of a rapper named in producer Lil Rod’s sexual assault lawsuit against Diddy who allegedly had sex with the Bad Boy boss.

Meek Mill

“I’m from Philly I don’t do coke or freaky ass molly … nobody won’t even offer me coke because I’m that heavy …. No man or watt would ever approach me about gay activity and the whole place don’t get flipped … woke up seeing this on every blog like they know I’m coming! Lol,” he wrote on X (formerly Twitter).

“That’s why I always come around all these industry n-ggas with my real friends. You never catch me around anybody from the industry alone..you can’t even hold a convo without my dawgs stepping in the room it’s been that way … I can’t til yall find out I’m the illest in this shit lol.”

He added: “The 2 things they say … we snitching or we gay ….we generating 100’s of millions from music it’s not a coincidence we all gay and snitches …. They are powering this stuff even if it’s fake! The goal is to disrupt the hip-hop community…. I own this music that drops tomar play it!!!!!”

Meek Mill

Meek continued to deny the allegation, even after he was proven to have followed a gay porn page on social media.

Lil Baby’s Artist Dirty Tay Gets 17 Years In Prison For Accidentally Shooting Toddler In The Head

Lil Baby signee Dirty Tay has received a sentence of 17 years in prison after a shooting in 2022 that left a toddler fighting for his life.

Lil Baby

According to court documents obtained by HipHopDX, the aspiring rapper (real name Kentavious Wright) was officially sent to prison on April 26 after he took a plea deal. The charge — originally a capital felony, making him eligible for the death penalty if convicted of the top count — was reduced to a lesser felony, meaning he only has to serve 17 years behind bars.

It is unclear whether Dirty Tay will be eligible for parole before the sentence is up.

Check out the docket below.

Dirty Tay released two albums, Way Bigger on the Low and Too Turnt Up, on Lil Baby’s 4PF label in 2020, with his songs “Beast” and “Don’t Wanna Do It” racking up over a million streams each on Spotify.

Lil Baby

The shooting took place on August 3, 2022, and involved a man and his three-year-old son being shot at while leaving the Off the Hook barbershop in southwest Atlanta.

According to police, the father and son were driving down Peters Street when a Kia did a U-turn and began to follow them. The car pulled up alongside the passenger side at an intersection and multiple shots were fired, resulting in the child being struck in the head.

The father estimated five shots were fired before the suspect drove to a fire station, with three 9mm shell casings being found at the scene of the crime. The child was rushed to the hospital and was stabilized hours after the shooting.

Lil Baby

Dirty Tay denied his involvement in the shooting in a post to his Instagram Stories. “I’m innocent the news is not always right don’t bash me because of allegations,” he wrote.

According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, police arrested 24-year-old Dirty Tay (real name Kentavious Wright) during a traffic stop on August 19, 2022, and booked him into the Fulton County Jail on a dozen counts.

The charges include a criminal attempt to commit murder, aggravated assault, first-degree cruelty to children, and three counts of committing offenses listed in Georgia’s Street Gang Terrorism and Prevention Act with the intent to gain membership or increase his status in a criminal street gang.

Lil Baby

Officers took Dirty Tay into custody alongside his girlfriend, who was found with a gun that police say belonged to the rapper. The arrest was caught on body-worn camera footage.

Lil Baby has not commented on the sentencing.

Alicia Keys Celebrates Multiple Tony Award Nominations

Alicia Keys is in full celebration mode after learning that her Broadway musical Hell’s Kitchen has been nominated for a whopping 13 TONY Awards. In an Instagram post on Wednesday (May 1), Swizz Beatz captured the moment his wife learned of the nominations – and she was so excited, she popped a big bottle of champagne at 7 in the morning.

“13 TONY Nominations is worthy of popping a bottle at 7 am,” Alicia captioned the post which included the aforementioned video as well as multiple photos of her bottle popping.

Check out the celebratory moment below.

Hell’s Kitchen got its start playing at the Public Theater last year, ending on January 14. It then transferred to the Shubert Theater on Broadway for previews beginning March 28, with an opening night on April 20.

Upon the announcement of her Broadway debut, Alicia Keys said: “Good things take time and for 13 years, I’ve been dreaming, developing, and finding inspiration for a musical based on my experience growing up in Hell’s Kitchen, NYC.

She continued: “Hell’s Kitchen is inspired by my life, but it’s not a biographical story. It’s a story about family relationships and identity: Who are we? Who do we want to be? Who are we becoming?

ALICIA KEYS

“The score features new songs that I’m really excited to get out into the world alongside many of my albums releases that you know but you’ve never heard like this – rearranged and reinterpreted.”

The show’s music and lyrics are by the award-winning singer, and the book is penned by Kristoffer Diaz.

In addition to music, Alicia Keys and Swizz Beatz’s art collection is set to become a massive coffee table book, to be released in conjunction with an exhibit at the Brooklyn Museum.

According to a press release shared with HipHopDX, the pair will be releasing Giants: Art from the Dean Collection of Swizz Beatz and Alicia Keys on the Phaidon Books imprint in June of this year.

ALICIA KEYS

The book also features an interview with the longtime married couple by Kimberli Gant, Curator of Modern and Contemporary Art at the Brooklyn Museum. It serves as an accompaniment to an exhibition featuring Swizz and Alicia’s extensive artwork collection at the museum, which is running from February 10 to July 7.

“Our strategy is collecting from the heart,” the couple said in a statement. “You know, a lot of people call us Black collectors. We’re art collectors, and we happen to be Black. We collect artists from all over the world. The reason why we double down on artists of color is because our community wasn’t collecting these giants.”

Gunna Drops New Single ‘Whatsapp (Wassam)’ As He Announces Album Release Date

Gunna is gearing up to drop his fifth studio album One Of Wun and he just dropped a new single ahead of its release. “Whatsapp (Wassam)” hit streaming services on Friday (May 3). While previewing the track on Instagram, the Atlanta native also announced that the album will drop on May 10.

Gunna

Produced by Turbo and EVRGRN, “Whatsapp (Wassam)” follows the previously-released One Of Wun single “Prada Dem” with Offset.

Get into the new song below.

TMZ caught up with Gunna on Monday (April 29) and talked to him about One Of Wun, asking him if he thinks it will top the charts.

“For sure” he responded. “The album One of Wun — it’s number one.”

About the forthcoming LP surpassing his widely praised 2023 offering A Gift & A Curse, he said without hesitation: “For sure.”

Gunna’s last album was named HipHopDX‘s Biggest Comeback of 2023.

News editor Andy Bustard wrote about the tracklist: “For a while, many doubted that Gunna would be able to climb his way back to the heights he achieved just 11 months prior when he earned his first No. 1 album with DS4Ever. Some even wondered whether his career was over altogether.

“With the release of his third album A Gift & A Curse…though, Gunna silenced the critics and proved that not even snitching allegations can drown the Drip King.”

Gunna

He added: “Loaded with infectious, hard-hitting anthems and a defiant edge that’s reflected in its lack of guest features, the project peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 chart while its platinum-certified single “Fukumean” cracked the Top 5 on the Hot 100 chart, becoming one of the biggest (and unlikeliest) rap hits of 2023.”

Last month, the 30-year-old revealed the cover art for One of Wun: a painting by artist Calvin Clausell Jr. in which the rapper’s face is covered by a blue-and-white floral fabric.

While no further details about the release date were shared as part of that initial announcement, the YSL rapper captioned its Instagram post: “ONE OF WUN | ALBUM OTW.”

Gunna

Gunna kickstarted the rollout of the new album with two singles.

In February, he dropped “Bittersweet,” on which he seemingly extended an olive branch to his former Drip Harder collaborator Lil Baby, with whom he had been trading shots in the past months.

A month later, he once again fired back at allegations of being a snitch on a collaboration with Offset, “Prada Dem.”

Another concurred wither: “Nah my poop be shy [weary face emoji]. I need to be able to blow it down in peace [crying emoji].”

Check out Latto’s prompt below:

In other news, the “Sunday Service” rapper recently defended her father after he received a ton of criticism online because of the age gap between her parents.

The controversy erupted last month after the Atlanta native posted a picture of her mother shortly after giving birth to her — Mitsi Pitts was only 15 years old when the shot was taken.

A post subsequently went viral, alleging that Latto’s father was much older than his wife at the time.

“Latto shared a photo of her as an infant being held by her mother with a caption that said, ‘My mama 15yr old fast a** w me,’” the post read. “Her dad was 23 and her Mom was 15 at the time of conception. Wouldn’t that make her father a pedophile? Mhm thinks.”

Latto

The Grammy nominee then hit back with: “My parents are 3 years apart lol.” The age gap between her parents has been referenced before.

When Latto was beefing with Nicki Minaj in late 2022, the “Anaconda” rapper used it as ammunition in their Twitter spat.

Seemingly offering proof of the alleged age gap between her adversary’s parents, the New York City MC wrote: “Scratch off getcho dumb ass to the mic RIGHT NOW!!!! Explain this shit!!!! Since you just became a rape activist in the last 5 minutes hoe YOU BETTA HAVE A GOOD EXPLANATION FOR THIS SHIT!!!! RIGHT TF NOW!!! this BETTA be a typo.”

Latto

The “Bitch from da Souf” hitmaker later responded: “Loud & wrong again…They were both teenagers in high school bookies they are still married lmao.”

Sexyy Red Fans Shocked By Picture Of Her Before The Fame

Sexyy Red has shared a photo from before she was famous, revealing looks that have shocked her fans. The throwback pic emerged on the web on Monday (May 1), and the “SkeeYee” spitter was serving serious looks, garnering stunned reactions from plenty of fans.

Sexyy Red

One user commented on a post from Our Generation Music: “Shawty was fine!”

Another added: “She was fs a problem at school.” A third wrote: “She definitely was the biggest bop in her school.”

Others, though, were less kind. A commenter said: “She looked better wtf.” Another added: “She dead was fire wtf happen.”

Check out the photos below.

Before she was a superstar, Tay Keith got dragged for working with Sexyy Red.

In an interview with Billboard published last month, the Memphis beatmaker reflected on the initial skepticism he dealt with from others when he first partnered up with the rapper.

Sexyy Red

“People were trolling the s–t [shit] out of me,” the “Pound Town” producer said. “They were real-deal trolling me. It wasn’t much good feedback. It was coming from even people around me, ‘What are you doing?’ I saw the potential. That’s as simple as it was, me believing in her.”

He also elaborated on his intuition about “Get It Sexyy” being a hit, adding: “When I finished the beat, I’m telling Sexyy, ‘This the one. This the hit.’ I’m telling her team. I’m just knowing when I made it right there I’m like, ‘This is the hit.’”

The producer also discussed his working relationship with Sexyy on the heels of the said song becoming a blockbuster.

Sexyy Red

“That whole situation is so crazy,” he continued. “We had done it in the last week of February or [the] beginning of March. I made the beat and we did the record that week. She did the snippet and it kinda caught on. So when she released the song, it took its course. It was a spontaneous song we had created.

“We were in Miami and had just left from Memphis. I flew to go work with her. I’m like, ‘We gotta get another big record.’ When I had started on the beat, I had my producer send me some chops. We chopped it and I heard it and I’m like, ‘I know exactly what I had to do with it.’ I made the beat from the sample chop.”

Watch – Doja Cat Turns Jimmy Fallon Into One Of Her Backup Dancers

Doja Cat had an elaborate set at Coachella that included backup dancers dressed head to toe in blonde hair – and she got Jimmy Fallon to don the look during her recent appearance on his show.

Doja Cat

The California native stopped by The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Wednesday (May 1), where she delivered a performance of “ACKNOWLEDGE ME” from her recently released Scarlet deluxe album Claude. Doja also sat down for a conversation with Jimmy that culminated in the host putting on the hairy outfit and even hitting a few moves.

“I wanted it to be modeled after hair, that’s the theme, hair, so it’s going to be a very hairy show,” Doja said of her forthcoming European tour and the reason for her Coachella set’s aesthetics.

Watch the funny clip below.

Following her performance at Coachella 2024 last month – where she became the first female rapper to headline the annual festival – Doja Cat immediately saw a boost in her music as she rose to the top of Billboard’s Mainstream R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart.

On April 17, Billboard reported that the Scarlet joint “Agora Hills” hit the top of the aforementioned tally dated April 20, following a 19% surge in weekly plays.

Doja Cat

This marked the 28-year-old’s first No. 1 on the chart, though she has topped the Pop Airplay chart eight times with hits such as “Say So,” “Kiss Me More” with SZA, and more. Previously, her highest position on the Mainstream R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart was No. 8, thanks to the Tyga-assisted “Juicy” back in 2020.

Doja Cat served as the headliner for the third and final night of the annual festival. Throughout her set, the superstar surprised fans with special guests 21 Savage, A$AP Rocky, and Teezo Touchdown for their respective collaborations — the last two appear on the deluxe version of her latest LP Scarlet 2: CLAUDE, which was released last month.

A number of fans thought she was taking shots at her rap peers upon the extended cut’s release, though she was quick to deny the speculation.

Doja Cat

“No one has done anything to me for me to even want to begin to diss them. all my peers have been nice as fuck and welcoming of me. please stop fucking grasping for straws here,” she wrote.

“I don’t play these games you all are playing,” she continued. “It’s incredibly childish and quite frankly the most depressing shit I’ve ever come across on the internet. grow the fuck up. I don’t get in ‘rAp bEefS.’”

Kendrick Lamar Allegedly Rejected Drake’s First Person Shooter Feature Request

Kendrick Lamar and Drake‘s feud was reignited over a rejected feature request — specifically, one of the latter’s biggest hits of last year. That’s according to Akademiks, anyway, who claimed on “good authority” that the simmering tension between the HP hop heavyweights exploded in recent weeks after Kendrick turned down a guest spot on Drizzy’s chart-topping “First Person Shooter” alongside J. Cole.

Kendrick Lamar

“I now have good authority to say that allegedly Drake hit up Kendrick and ‘First Person Shooter’ should have been a song with Drake, Cole, and Kendrick,” he said. “Now, if you think about this entire timeline and beef with that in mind, it makes sense.”

The media personality then said that Cole’s verse on the song (“Love when they argue the hardest MC/ Is it K. Dot? Is it Aubrey? Or me?/ We the big three like we started a league, but right now, I feel like Muhammad Ali”) “upset” Kendrick, inspiring his blistering verse on Future and Metro Boomin’s “Like That.”

“He says, ‘Man, these bum-ass n-ggas who couldn’t get a feature from me are now acting like they’re number one and number two. Fuck both of them!’” he continued. “That is what I am hearing.”

Kendrick Lamar

Ak also claimed that the lyrics on “First Person Shooter” were “reworked” after the Kendrick snub.

“If you listen to, allegedly, a part of especially Cole’s verse, that verse was intended to be, ‘Yo, I’m here with my brothers and we’re the best! But I still feel like I’m the best, but we’re the best.’” he said.

“If you listen to Cole’s verse, you will hear what the original intention of the song was […] Allegedly, Kendrick already told J. Cole that he was going to be on the record.”

“From what I’m hearing, Kendrick got upset because, yes, he turned down the feature because he’s got smoke with Drake, but once he heard them talking like it’s just them two, he said, ‘Alright, fuck it! My next verse, I’m about to say, ‘Fuck the big three, it’s just big me!’‘”

Kendrick Lamar

Akademiks did, however, clarify that “none of this is from Drake” and is pure speculation “based on what I’ve heard from very reputable sources that are connected to other people.”

Plenty of others have also theorized that this was one of the reasons for Drake and Kendrick Lamar’s beef exploding, especially due to a certain bar on the latter’s recent diss song “Euphoria”.

At one point, the former TDE titan raps: “Surprised you wanted that feature request/ You know that we got some shit to address.”

Kendrick has since dropped a second diss track aimed at the 6 God called “6:16 in LA,” which primarily finds him scrutinizing the loyalty of his inner circle.

Drake

“Conspiracies about cash, dawg, that’s not even the leak/ Find the jewels like Kash Doll, I just need you to think/ Are you finally ready to play ‘Have you ever?,’ let’s see/ Have you ever thought that OVO is working for me?” he raps over an Al Green sample.

“Fake bully, I hate bullies, you must be a terrible person/ Everyone inside your team is whispering that you deserve it/ Can’t Toosie Slide up out of this one, it’s just gonna resurface/ Every dog gotta have his day, now live in your purpose.”

He later spits: “The Elohim, K. T. W. know you can’t sleep/ These images trouble you, know the wires in your circle should puzzle you/ If you were street smart then you woulda caught that your entourage is only to hustle you.”

“A hundred n-ggas that you got on salary and 20 of ’em want you as a casualty/ And one of them is next to you, and two of them is practically tied to your lifestyle/ Just don’t got the audacity to tell you but let me tell you some game ’cause I can see you my little homie.”

While Drake was quick to respond to the aforementioned “Euphoria” with a troll-worthy clip from the teen movie 10 Things I Hate About You, he has yet to address “6:16 in LA.”

Funk Flex Picks Clear Winner In Kendrick Lamar & Drake Beef

Funk Flex has picked a winner in the rap feud between Kendrick Lamar and Drake. The legendary New York DJ appeared on Hot 97 to talk to Ebro Darden and surprisingly threw his weight behind the 6 God, despite their past issues.

Funk Flex

“Drake is by far the winner for me. By far,” Flex declared.

“That return shot was super,” he added, referencing Drake’s “Push Ups” diss song. “Listen, he wasted no bars in there, he wasted no time […] It’s an amazing comeback, it’s an amazing return.”

[Ed. Note: Flex’s comments were made before the release of Kendrick’s second Drake diss song “6:16 in LA.”]

Flex’s view echoes that of fellow New Yorkers Cam’ron and Ma$e who have also backed Drake in the beef.

The Harlem rappers turned sports personalities shared their thoughts on Kendrick’s recent diss record “Euphoria” on their show It Is What It Is, with both men claiming that Drizzy was winning the battle.

“Drake is winning from an MC standpoint,” Ma$e said, praising the Toronto native’s recent diss songs “Push Ups” and “Taylor Made Freestyle,” despite the latter being taken down due to legal threats from 2Pac‘s estate over its use of AI voice technology.

Funk Flex

“It took a while for us to get the record from Kendrick and when you wait a while it gotta be outta this world. I think if Kendrick dropped this record right after ‘[Push Ups] Drop and Give Me 50,’ it would have been crazy.”

Killa Cam added: “I think Drake is winning. ‘Euphoria’ didn’t move me. I’m expecting lyrics from Kendrick, you’re expecting certain things. The song was kinda long, it took too long to come out — pause. I’m not saying it’s bad.”

His co-host interjected: “It was a good record [but] we didn’t wait a while for a good record […] It’s like when you did ‘Curtis’ [Cam’ron’s 50 Cent diss song], it’s a certain thing you gotta have in the record that Kendrick doesn’t have in his record.

Funk Flex

“You gotta say something that makes n-ggas look at the n-gga different. And when he did the, ‘I don’t want to hear you say n-gga,’ that was an angle that we already heard before.”

Drake has yet to officially respond to “Euphoria” and “6:16 in LA,” but has teased that he has a rebuttal on the way outside of social media trolling.

Ice Spice Taunts Her Haters With Big Booty Thirst Trap

Ice Spice has delivered a special treat, posting a juicy thirst trap for her devoted followers to tie them over as they wait for new music from the Bronx rapper.

Ice Spice

Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, on Thursday (May 2), the “Munch” rapper posed in a mirror featuring the Guess Jeans logo, wearing nothing but a white T-shirt and a pair of boy shorts, with all her best assets out on display.

“I’d be mad too fs,” she captioned the photo.

Check it out below.

While Ice Spice is all too happy to show off her best features without prompting, her ex-best friend was recently accused of cheating on her longtime boyfriend with Lil Tjay, among other things.

Singer Baby Storme took to X (formerly Twitter) with a series of posts in an attempt to expose the Bronx rapper on Saturday (April 27). Along with pictures and screenshots of texts, she pledged to expose the 24-year-old for being a fake friend and a bad person.

Ice Spice

“This is Cleo,” she wrote with a photo of Ice and a girl named Cleopatra. “the girl she chose to be her ‘best friend to the public.’ when in reality, it was me behind the scenes. Cleo & her are not really best friends. Isis has always hated Cleo. But she used her so she could appear ‘closer to blackness.’ she also lied about being Nigerian. She stole that from me.”

In another post, she shared a long text she allegedly sent Ice, accusing her of being a fake friend since high school and only rekindling their friendship in recent years because Storme has a following in music.

Storme then shared a text that she claims was between her and the Bronx native to try and prove that the latter is also a colorist. In the chat, the “Munch” rapper is talking about how she has no sympathy for “dark skin” people who say they have to work harder because of her skin color.

Ice Spice

Adding fatphobia to the allegations, she shared another text screenshot in which Ice seemingly refers to a person as “wide body.”

In her final post, she said that the “Deli” hitmaker cheated on her longtime producer and boyfriend RIOTUSA with Lil Tjay at one point.

“EJ, ‘Riot’ is her producer and boyfriend since 2019,” she wrote. “he was the real mastermind behind her career & the one who pushed her to rap. She cheated on him with Tjay & then rapped about it on their song together. if you don’t believe me, just go back & read the lyrics to ‘Gansta boo.’”

Ice Spice

She continued: “But this time, read carefully. They were talking about him. She knows no loyalty. not even to the only person who has always been there for her. Riot.”
