Mbongeni Ngema’s memorial and funeral services to hold in 2024

Family of the late Mbongeni Ngema announced details of his memorial and funeral services. The creator of the iconic Sarafina! play passed away last week Wednesday while returning from a funeral in Lusikisiki in the Eastern Cape.

The memorial service will happen 3 January, next week Wednesday at the Durban Playhouse in KwaZulu Natal. The funeral service and other needed information will be passed across in due time. Taking to social media, the family appreciates people’s love and support.

“We would love to thank you for all your support and your messages of condolences. We receive them with humble hearts. This is interim communication following the untimely death of our beloved Dr Mbongeni Ngema. Please note that we will share official communication in due course regarding the official proceedings on the proposed memorial services and burial.
