Zahara’s sisters, Lumka and Bandezwa Mkutukana, have reportedly moved into her Roodepoort home against the family’s wishes. A source has told ZiMoja that the two sisters have also ransacked the late multi-award-winning musician’s wardrobe, subsequently taking pictures in her clothes.
The 36-year-old Loliwe hitmaker – real name Bulelwa Mkutukana – took her last breath at a Johannesburg hospital on 11 December after spending almost three weeks in intensive care unit (ICU). She was laid to rest on 23 December in East London.
According to ZiMoja’s source, Lumka and Bandezwa are disrespecting their culture by helping themselves to Zahara’s clothes as the necessary steps to handout the late artist’s belongings have not been followed.
“Our culture says that after a person dies, we need to have a ceremony where the clothes are given out freely to family and friends,” said the source. This has not been done. But they have already started wearing her clothes and parading around. Trust me, she is mad wherever she is.
