The financial aid requested will help cover funeral expenses and ensure that Lizwi Wokuqala is laid to rest with dignity. The appeal has resonated with many who admired his music and talent, and supporters are encouraged to contribute in any way they can to assist the family in honoring his memory.

Khoza said that in a family meeting held this morning, it was presented that his family is not able to bury the Lizwi due to lack of funds.

Lizwi was starting in the industry, he had not yet made money. He had just gained popularity as a promising upcoming talent. We are pleading with local businesspeople to assist us with any contribution or assistance to make sure that he gets a dignified funeral. Anything will be highly appreciated,” he said. Khoza told ZiMoja that the family is planning to bury Lizwi on Sunday if all effort yields results.

He added that though he had not started making enough money, Lizwi (23) was a breadwinner at his home. “We have a bank account of the mother. We just need to cover the expense for the coffin, the undertaker, sound and food. Estimated around R100 000, we are also pleading to the KZN government to assist in resolving this challenge for the family,” he said. Khoza said all the donations can be directed to Lizwi’s mother.
