Offset Disappoints Fans After Pulling Out Of Hot 97 Summer Jam

0

Offset has left his fans and followers disappointed as he will no longer be performing at this year’s Hot 97 Summer Jam in New York. The music festival, which is set to take place on June 2 at Elmont’s UBS Arena, added several new acts to the bill on Monday (May 6).

Offset

Per the updated roster, French Montana, Fivio Foreign, Ty Dolla $ign, and many more will take the stage at the event next month. Additionally, the recently departed Mister Cee‘s contributions to the culture will be celebrated by Big Daddy Kane.

Unfortunately, the Migos rapper’s name has been omitted from the new lineup — as of now, no reason has been provided for it.

“@offsetyrn not in the line up no more lol I’m not going no more tf,” one person wrote on Instagram, while another added: “I’m coming for offset why he ain’t there.”

A third social media user seemed to have not even noticed that his name was missing as she replied: “@offsetyrn I know you gonna bring wifey out @iamcardib.”

Summer Jam

In addition to Offset, Doja Cat and Sexyy Red were announced as the festival’s headliners earlier this year.

The famed radio station announced via Instagram in mid-March, revealing only a few other names from the card such as Method Man & Redman, Davido, and Tee Grizzley.

Despite the abundance of rap royalty, some fans were left unimpressed by Doja’s inclusion on the flyer, with one social-media user commenting: “Doja Cat? This the same summer jam that said Nicki Minaj was too pop years ago [eight crying laughter emojis].”

Offset

“Doja Cat? I wanna see more NYC artists this makes no sense guys,” another person wrote, though a third took a more empathetic tone with: “Love Doja but I’m curious how the Summer Jam crowd is going to embrace her.”

Tickets for the Blockbuster annual gathering are now on sale and can be purchased here.

Chief Keef has been promising a follow-up to his beloved 2013 mixtape Almighty Sofor years, and now he’s finally delivered. On Friday (May 10), the rapper released Almighty So 2, a 16-track project that features guest appearances from, among others, G Herbo, Lil Gnar, Tierra Whack, Quavo, and Sexyy Red.

Chief Keef

In addition, comedian Michael Blackson, who appeared in the original Almighty So, shows up in the new one as well. Sexyy Red’s verse, on the song “Grape Trees,” should come as no surprise, as she and Keef have been frequent collaborators of late.

They first joined forces in late 2023 for Sexyy’s “Ghetto Princess” and a remix of her track “Bow Bow Bow (F My Baby Dad).” That was followed by “Damn Shorty,” a song from Keef’s Dirty Nachos mixtape with Mike WiLL Made-It.

In a March interview with Billboard News, the Chicago legend spoke about the rising Midwest MC from backstage at Rolling Loud LA.

Chief Keef

Asked by interviewer Tetris Kelly what he believed was the reason, “people go so crazy for Sexyy Red,” Keef’s response was simple: “She just … you could tell she just come from where we come from.”

Elsewhere in the interview, the “Love Sosa” rapper reflected on why he works so well with the “SkeeYee” rapper.

He explained: “Shit. I just know she fuck with me real heavy. I fuck with her too. Saying she wants to come through and I said “hell fucking yeah.”

Chief Keef

Check out the entirety of Almighty So 2 below.

Keef is set to commemorate the moment with his first performance in his hometown of Chicago in over a decade.

Keef was announced as one of the headliners of this year’s Lyrical Lemonade Summer Smash festival alongside Playboi Carti and Travis Scott and his Cactus Jack labelmates such as Sheck Wes and Don Toliver.

Berto Solorio, co-founder of the festival, celebrated the return of Keef to his hometown, telling the Chicago Sun-Times: “It’s going to be a historic moment in Chicago music history when Sosa returns home to perform at Lyrical Lemonade Summer Smash.”

Chief Keef

Also scheduled to perform are the likes of Big Sean, Kodak Black, Denzel Curry, Lil Yachty, JID, Mick Jenkins, Ski Mask the Slump God, and Waka Flocka Flame. The festival takes place on June 14-16 at SeatGeek Stadium.

Ludacris Reveals Who He Thinks Would Win In Rhyme Writing Contest Between Him And Jay-Z

Ludacris has shared who he believes would be the winner if he and JAY-Z were forced to write competing verses. While taking to Cam Newton on the latest episode of the football star’s Funky Friday podcast, Luda answered a question about what would happen if he and the Brooklyn icon were each given two hours to write a rhyme. He claimed he would come out on top.

Ludacris

“I would have to say, I would win on that one,” he said. “It’s a strong statement to say that because Hov is one of my favorites.” He then described how seriously he would take the hypothetical contest.

“In terms of flow, I’m going to kill that shit… [W]hen you put me in a category of, oh shit, I’m going against Hov, every fucking word, every line, every style, every flow, every metaphor — I got to go,” he said.

Luda then reminded Newton that something similar to this imagined scenario had already happened: Luda appeared with both JAY and Nas on the 2008 track “I Do It For Hip Hop.”

Ludacris

You can see Luda’s answer to Newton beginning at the 49:14 mark of the video below.

While Luda hasn’t yet triumphed over Hov in a verse-writing contest, he has won a different major award recently.

Late last month, the ATL rapper received his first-ever Webby for his epic performance during the Atlanta Falcons Hip Hop 50 celebration, and the Atlanta legend was thrilled to pieces about the honor.

Ludacris

Taking to Instagram on Thursday (April 25), the rapper-turned-actor thanked the committee for the honor and confessed that it was on his agenda to do, with or without the award.

“I just received word that I’ve received a Webby Award — the Internet’s highest honor,” he said in the video. “For rappelling down from the Mercedes-Benz Stadium. I’m blown away because I wanted to do this shit anyways.”

He continued: “So thank you to the Falcons. Thank you to everybody involved. Everyone who knows me, knows I’m a thrill-seeker, knows I’m an adrenaline junkie. And I think it’s dope to be honored for something I’d do any damn way.”

Ludacris

Back in November, as part of Atlanta’s 50th anniversary of Hip Hop celebrations, Luda rappelled from the roof of Atlanta’s Mercedes-Benz Stadium while rapping his classic hit “Move Bitch.”

“I Got Some Georgia Dome Today,” the rapper and actor joked on Instagram, referencing the Falcons’ previous home while sharing GoPro footage of his theatrical stunt — which impressed not only those in attendance, but a number of his rap peers watching at home.

“WOW AMAZING,” Tyler, The Creator commented under the footage, while Redman added: “EXTREME [fire emojis] !!” Ludacris appeared at the end of the third quarter, topping off what was a day of Hip Hop celebrations.

Ludacris

The halftime entertainment came from Jeezy, Cee-Lo Green, Jermaine Dupri, Big Boi, and Quavo, with the Migos rapper paying tribute to his cousin TakeOff who was murdered last year.

T.I. was also in the building and walked the Falcons onto the field while rapping his 2004 hit “Bring Em Out.”

Air fryer crispy chicken burger

Pimp your BLT with a C for chicken coated in spicy cornflakes and cooked in the air fryer, all sandwiched in a brioche burger bun.

Ingredients
2 skinless chicken breasts
70g/2½oz cornflakes, crushed
1 tsp Cajun seasoning
1 tsp paprika
1 tsp dried oregano
1 tsp lemon salt (optional, see recipe tip)
2 free-range eggs
2 slices bacon, or more, to taste
To serve
2 brioche burger buns
light mayonnaise
iceberg lettuce
sliced tomato
2 tsp pesto (optional)
Recipe tips
Method
Put the chicken breasts on a board and cover with baking paper. Bash them with a rolling pin until they are about 2cm/¾in thick all over.

In a shallow bowl, mix the cornflakes with the Cajun seasoning, paprika, oregano and lemon salt, if using.

Break the eggs into another shallow bowl and whisk with a fork.

Dip the chicken into the eggs until evenly coated, then dip into the cornflakes, ensuring it is fully coated.

Air fry at 170C for 17 minutes; check after 15 minutes and lower the temperature if the cornflakes are getting too brown.

If your air fryer has one basket, add the bacon 5 minutes after you start cooking the chicken, and cook for 10–12 minutes at 170C. If your air fryer has two baskets, cook the bacon separately at 200C for 8–10 minutes.

To assemble, spread some mayo on the bottom halves of the brioche buns. Top with the lettuce, bacon, chicken, sliced tomato and pesto, if using, add the top halves of the buns and serve hot.

Recipe Tips
Lemon salt is available in some large supermarkets and from online suppliers. You can make your own by mixing lemon zest with coarse salt in a pestle and mortar.

Homemade granola – Recipe

Nutty, fruity wholesome goodness is what homemade granola is all about. Please feel free to ad lib here, with substitutions such as honey for maple syrup, raisins, apricots or dried apples for the dried cranberries and cashews for the whole almonds.

Ingredients
125ml/4fl oz maple syrup (or honey or golden syrup)
25g/1oz caster sugar
25ml/1fl oz sunflower oil
½ tsp vanilla extract
500g/1lb 2oz jumbo rolled oats
175g/6oz mixed seeds (like pumpkin, sunflower, sesame or linseeds)
150g/5oz pecans (or walnuts)
50g/2oz whole almonds
25g/1oz flaked almonds
75g/2¾oz desiccated coconut
pinch of salt (optional)
2 tsp cinnamon (optional)
150g/5½oz dried cranberries (or raisins, dates or other dried fruit)
Recipe tips
Method
Preheat the oven to 170C/325F/Gas 3. Line two large roasting trays with parchment paper and set aside.

Put the maple syrup, sugar, oil and vanilla extract into a large bowl and mix well. Then toss in the oats, mixed seeds, pecans (or walnuts), whole almonds, flaked almonds, coconut and salt and cinnamon (if using). Give it a good stir and then get your hands in, picking it up and letting it fall down to coat and moisten everything really well.

Pour the mixture onto the roasting trays and spread it out evenly. Bake in the oven for about 15 minutes, giving it a good stir and swapping them about on their shelves half way through.

The granola should be golden-brown when cooked. Remove and leave to cool completely before stirring the cranberries through. Store in an airtight container for up to a month.

Recipe Tips
You can make this granola in the air-fryer, though we recommend you start with a half batch. Mix as above. Line a basket air-fryer with foil, or use a baking tray – depending on what style air-fryer you own. bake at 170C for 15 minutes, stirring the granola every 5 minutes.

French toast with berries and honey

Use whatever stale white bread you have in the bread bin for this fabulous French toast – it makes a brilliant weekend brunch drenched in honey with fresh berries.

Ingredients
2 free-range eggs, beaten
1 tsp golden caster sugar
pinch salt
pinch ground cinnamon
½ tsp vanilla extract
125ml/4fl oz milk
½ stale baguette, cut on the diagonal into 2–3cm/¾in–1¼in-thick slices, or 2 large, thick slices of stale white bread, cut into triangles
sunflower oil or butter, for frying
To serve
2 tbsp honey
handful of berries, such as blueberries, raspberries or quartered strawberries
Recipe tips
Method
Whisk together the eggs, caster sugar, salt, cinnamon, vanilla and milk in a shallow dish.

Dip the pieces of bread into the egg mixture, coating both sides well. Allow the mixture to soak in a little, but not so much that the bread falls apart.

Heat the oil or butter in a large frying pan.

Lower the soaked bread into the pan using a fork. Fry for a couple of minutes on both sides, or until golden-brown.

Transfer to a warm plate, cover and keep warm while you cook the remaining pieces of bread.

Divide the French toast between two plates, drizzle over the honey and top with the berries.

Recipe Tips
Any stale white bread will work well in this recipe – baguette, white sliced, teacakes, brioche or even crumpets.

Swap the honey and berries for a couple of rashers of crispy bacon and maple syrup if you like.

Spinach and ricotta lasagne

Packed with greens, this is a lighter, fresher take on a classic lasagne. Using frozen spinach and swapping bechamel sauce for ricotta makes this version quick and easy to prep, too.

Ingredients
For the tomato sauce
2 tbsp olive oil, plus extra for greasing
1 onion, finely chopped
2 garlic cloves, finely chopped
2 x 400g tins chopped tomatoes
1 tsp dried oregano
½ tsp sugar
salt and freshly ground black pepper
For the spinach and ricotta filling
500g/1lb 2oz frozen spinach, defrosted and excess water squeezed out
250g/9oz ricotta
250g/9oz mascarpone
85g/3oz pesto
¼ nutmeg, finely grated
salt and freshly ground black pepper
To assemble
12 dried lasagne sheets
50ml/2fl oz double cream
25g/1oz Parmesan (or vegetarian hard cheese), finely grated
fresh salad, to serve (optional)

Method
To make the tomato sauce, heat the oil in a frying pan over a medium heat and fry the onion for 8 minutes. Add the garlic and continue to cook for 2 minutes. Stir in the tomatoes, oregano and sugar and season with salt and pepper. Continue to cook for 5 minutes then remove from the heat.

Meanwhile, to make the filling, mix the spinach, ricotta, mascarpone, pesto and nutmeg together in a bowl and season with plenty of salt and pepper. Set aside.

Preheat the oven to 200C/180C Fan/Gas 6. To assemble the lasagne, lightly grease a 20x30x5cm/8x12x2in ovenproof dish. Spoon a third of the tomato sauce into the base then dollop over a quarter of the ricotta mixture. Swirl it through to create an even layer.

Layer over 4 lasagne sheets, breaking them to fit snugly and cover the sauce. Repeat with another third of the tomato sauce, a further quarter of the ricotta mixture and a layer of lasagne sheets. Repeat again so the lasagna sheets are on top and there is still a quarter of ricotta mixture left.

Gently mix the cream into the remaining ricotta mixture and spread this over the top layer of pasta. Sprinkle with the hard cheese and bake for 40-50 minutes. Serve immediately with salad, if preferred.

Megan Thee Stallion Releases Sexy New BOA Music Video

0

Megan Thee Stallion has aimed at her rivals on her new single “BOA” which arrives with a sexy video. Continuing the theme of snake-related song titles after “Hiss” and “Cobra,” “BOA” sees Megan asserting herself at the top of the rap game.

Megan Thee Stallion

On the track, which samples Gwen Stefani’s “What Are You Waiting For?”, she raps: “Bitches is bitter, they thought it was sweet/ All of a sudden they vegan, they don’t want beef/ Talkin’ outta veneers, I’m knockin’ out teeth.”

She also spits: “Bitches is messy but I’m petty/ Don’t gotta edit, check the Getty/ I keep it real, I keep it sexy/ Callin’ for backup before they address me/ Hoes do all of that typin’/ But never once did I get pressed.”

Megan, who was embroiled in a messy beef with Nicki Minaj earlier this year, also calls out her contemporaries who focus on making songs for TikTok.

“Bitch, your time up, why is you not clockin’ out?/ Doin’ shit for TikTok/ Bitch, I’m Hip Hop/ They all know my shit hot, ain’t listen when your shit drop/ All my diamonds dancin’, I ain’t need to make no TikTok,” she raps.

Another line goes: “All that fuckin’ talkin’ but let’s see who make a move/ Post a picture, bitches call me ‘Mother,’ now who’s Sonning who?”

Megan Thee Stallion

The video for “BOA” is also heavily inspired by retro video games, as well as the cult movie Scott Pilgrim vs the World and the iconic head-exploding scene from Scanners.

The flashy clip also sees Megan Thee Stallion in various provocative costumes including one where she is completely nude apart from thigh-high boots, a headpiece, and accessories covering her intimate parts.

The Houston Hottie also appears in animated form as a gaming avatar beating up her enemies. It is currently unclear whether “Boa” is a part of a new album, but Megan has been teasing the follow-up to 2022’s Traumazine for some time.

Megan Thee Stallion

Speaking to fans on Instagram Live in April, she hinted that her next LP will be around 14 songs and admitted she was struggling to settle on a sonic direction.

“I keep recording songs that are so good. Like, I will be in one mood one week and another the next week,” Megan said.

“I was like, ‘Damn, I need to rap my ass off.’ So the first 20 songs I had, I was just straight rapping. And then I started being in a better mood and I was recording feel-good songs.

Megan Thee Stallion

“And then I got in a ratchet mood ’cause you know it’s about to be summertime and we about to be outside, so then I started making some lil’ pop that ass music.”
