Roddy Ricch has been busy cooking up some new music, but a showcase of an unreleased song quickly went south this week after thousands of fans began tuning out. The Compton native hopped on Instagram Live on Wednesday (July 26) to give fans a sneak peek of what he’s been working on in the studio, and while he began with over 12,000 viewers, fans immediately began leaving the live stream in droves as soon as he pressed play.
A video of the broadcast shows that in less than a minute, Roddy’s viewership plummeted from 12,100 to almost half that. Unfortunately for Roddy, the moment didn’t go unnoticed by fans on social media.
“Viewership dropped faster than Celebrity NFTs,” one disappointed fan joked next to broken-hearted emojis.
Another person poked fun at Roddy’s misery by comparing his dwindling IG audience to a rapidly-depleting Yu-Gi-Oh! life points counter.
However, others were quick to defend the 24-year-old by claiming the song he previewed wasn’t even a dud. “It is a shame because it really doesn’t sound THAT bad,” one fan said.

Fans haven’t gotten a full-length release from Riddy Ricch since his Feed Tha Streets 3 project last year, which boasted guest appearances from Lil Durk and Ty Dolla $ign.
The live stream debacle is just the latest instance of bad luck for the “Box” hitmaker, who in May was ordered to cough up $24,000 in child support payments to his child’s mother Alexandra Kiser.
The payment covers the $8,000-a-month child support payments for April, May, and June of 2023, and Roddy Ricch and Kiser will continue to iron out an agreement without the assistance of a judge or a mediator.
The pair have a tentative court date in mid-August, but it may be canceled altogether if they reach an agreement. The $24,000 payment will also count as a credit towards any back child support payments that might be owed by the rapper.
Kiser had previously accused the “Down Below” rapper of being a lean addict and a gang member in court documents filed to the Los Angeles County court.
“Rodrick Moore is gang-affiliated,” she said in the filing, using his government name. “He has been arrested on a gun charge, domestic violence and regularly indulges in promethazine use, all of which are concerns for myself and our son.”
She also accused him of being an absent father, claiming: “Since his birth, I alone, spend 98% of the time with him while Rodrick lives his life without any regard to his parental obligation or responsibility to spend time with Kadence.”
