Pharrell Williams celebrated his Louis Vuitton debut fashion show but he pumped the brakes on Swizz Beatz crowning him the “Louis Vuitton Don,” which P still gives to Kanye West.
After debuting his first collection as Men’s Creative Director of Louis Vuitton on Tuesday night (June 20), Swizz Beatz was hanging with Skateboard P and showing The Neptunes producer love for his vision, but Pharrell made sure to salute Kanye West as the OG Louis Vuitton Don.
“Ladies and gentlemen, this is my brother, Pharrell, the don — the Louis Vuitton Don,” Swizz said before Pharrell stopped him short.
“Nah, nah, nah. Pupil King. I’m a student. Louis Vuitton Don is the one great Kanye West. That’s the Louis Vuitton Don. I’m the Pupil King.
I’m a student. I’m forever the student… My appointment in this position is a tribute to our brother Virgil [Abloh].”

Kanye West has repeatedly referred to himself as the Louis Vuitton Don in the past on tracks such as The College Dropout‘s “Last Call” as well as 2007’s “Stronger.” Yeezy also teamed up with LV for a collaborative blood-red sneaker known as the “Don” in 2009.
Pharrell acknowledged Kanye and the late Virgil Abloh during a recent interview drawing a parallel to all three of their journeys inside fashion.
“It’s crazy because you can see a photo of myself with Kanye [West] and Virgil wearing the sunglasses, so it’s like all of this serendipitous connection,” he told WWD.
The show debuted LV’s Men’s Spring-Summer 2024 Collection, with the stage spanning the bridge in front of the Louis Vuitton headquarters and the LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton-owned Cheval Blanc hotel.
Plenty of star power was in the front row with JAY-Z, Beyonce, A$AP Rocky, Rihanna, Zendaya, Kim Kardashian, Jayden and Willow Smith, LeBron James, Lewis Hamilton, Russell Westbrook, and more in attendance.
Hov and Pharrell hit the stage after the show to perform collabs “Give It 2 Me” and “Frontin’” While Jay continued to rock the Paris crowd with anthems like “N-ggas In Paris,” which is now a certified diamond.
