Royal AM, owned by Shandi Trust, is in legal trouble due to an outstanding tax bill of nearly R38 million. The curator, Venter, visited Shauwn’s luxury residence in La Lucia, Umhlanga, KwaZulu Natal to confiscate the vehicles, which include a Rolls Royce Cullinan, Porsche Urus, Mercedes-Maybach, 2 BMWs X6, and a BMW X5, among others.

According to a source, Shauwn and her son Andile Mpisane, who serves as the club’s chairman, were not present at their La Lucia home when Venter, accompanied by SARS security personnel, arrived unannounced. Legal documents that ZiMoja has seen were served against Shandi Trust, owned by two of Shauwn’s nephews and her brother. SARS officials also visited Shauwn’s mansion in Sandton, Johannesburg, to serve her with documents for the attachment of additional movable assets. SARS officials and the curator simultaneously arrived at both properties in Durban and Johannesburg to serve the Royal AM owners with the necessary court documents

There is no money in SA music’: Gigi Lamayne

0

Gigi Lamayne, a South African rapper, has been vocal about the challenges faced by artists in the music industry, particularly regarding financial matters.

Her statement, “There is no money in SA music,” reflects a sentiment shared by many artists who struggle with issues such as low royalty rates, limited revenue streams, and difficulties in securing lucrative deals. Despite these challenges, South Africa has a vibrant music scene with numerous talented artists achieving success both locally and internationally.

Gigi Lamayne

However, financial sustainability remains a concern for many musicians, prompting discussions and calls for industry reforms to ensure fair compensation and better opportunities for artists.Gigi Lamayne’s remarks from her interview on the Trndza Podcast shed light on the financial challenges faced by many artists in the South African music industry. While some artists may appear to lead lavish lifestyles with expensive cars and mansions, Lamayne emphasizes that this is not the case for everyone.

Gigi-Lamayne

She points out that making a sustainable income solely from music in South Africa is extremely difficult, and many artists may need to seek opportunities outside the country to achieve financial success. Lamayne acknowledges the success of artists like DJ Maphorisa, Busta 929, and Cassper Nyovest, who have managed to build substantial wealth from their music careers. However, she emphasizes that such success is not the norm and may not be achievable for every artist.

Gigi-LaMayne

Lamayne’s perspective underscores the importance of diversifying income streams and managing expectations for those pursuing careers in the music industry in South Africa. While music can be a fulfilling passion, she suggests approaching it with a realistic understanding of the financial challenges it presents.

Manchester United Wins FA Cup #Man United 2 : 1 Man City

0

Manchester City faced rivals Manchester United in the FA Cup final today with a double-double on the line at Wembley Stadium. Pep Guardiola’s side, a week on from their fourth successive Premier League title, face a United side low on confidence after a turbulent season under Erik ten Hag.

The Dutchman’s future is under intense speculation, with a summer of change anticipated at Old Trafford, but an unlikely victory over the champions could prove vital to convince Sir Jim Ratcliffe and his team to persevere with him for next season.

“I am just focusing on the job I have to do and that is first win the game on Saturday and then we are in the project,” Ten Hag said when quizzed on his future. “Keep going in the project. I came here to win trophies and Saturday is another opportunity.”

Kick-off at Wembley Stadium at 15:00 BST, live on ITV.

City – Ortega, Walker, Stones, Ake, Gvardiol, Rodri, Kovacic, Silva, De Bruyne, Foden, Haaland

United – Onana, Wan-Bissaka, Varane, Martinez, Dalot, McTominay, Ambrabat, Mainoo, Garnacho, Fernandes, Rashford

GOAL 29’ – Gvardiol’s error gives Garnacho a simple tap-in to put United ahead (0-1)
GOAL 39’ – Mainoo finishes brilliant team move to put United two up (0-2)
GOAL 87’ – Doku beats Onana at the near post to set up the big finale (1-2)

A huge result for United today and quite possibly for Erik ten Hag in particular – we’ll see if it affects the decision for Ineos over whether to keep the boss in charge.

Some frustration and disappointment for City though, who never quite got their game in gear on the day.

“Absolutely delighted. It was such a huge task for Manchester United today to come here and beat the champions and I thought they were absolutely fantastic. The resilience they’ve shown, the work rate, the effort, the desire to score goals. They deserved the victory.” Says Wayne Rooney Applauding the United

If that is to be Erik ten Hag’s final game in charge of Manchester United, what a way to sign off.

Few gave them a chance today but for the vast majority of that game, they were tactically spot on.

Red flags are being waved by the Manchester United fans as their players celebrate on the pitch.

Ten Hag went into this Manchester derby final with the growing expectation that he will be sacked by United’s new co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe, irrespective of the outcome.

If Ten Hag is to be dismissed, he will be going out on the back of the finest day of his two-year reign and United’s finest moment for years following a performance that was virtually unrecognizable from the dismal fare they have served up this season.

United’s triumph, which denied Premier League champions City a second successive domestic double, was built on an outstanding first-half display that brought goals from Alejandro Garnacho and Kobbie Mainoo.

Garnacho was the beneficiary of a mix-up between City keeper Stefan Ortega and Josko Gvardiol as he was left with an open goal on the half-hour while Mainoo crowned a sweeping move with a calm finish from Bruno Fernandes’ delicate touch nine minutes later.

City inevitably applied pressure in the second half, Erling Haaland hitting the frame of the goal, United keeper Andre Onana saving superbly from Kyle Walker, and Julian Alvarez missing a great chance.

City substitute Jeremy Doku pulled one back with four minutes left but Ten Haag’s side held firm to record a famous victory to win the FA Cup for the first time since 2015 and record their 13th win in the competition.

J. Cole Gets Raunchy On New Cash Cobain Feature Grippy

0

J. Cole has shown off a surprisingly raunchy side in a new collaboration with Cash Cobain called “Grippy.” A reworking of Cobain’s track “Dunk Contest,” the song finds the Dreamville boss and rising New York rap star waxing poetic about getting between the sheets with a particularly dazzling woman.

J. Cole

Cole kicks off the track by spitting: “She like my kick game/ And when we met, don’t kick game/ I put her front row of the Knick game/ Now she in my phone with a nickname.”

He later raps: “Grippy, I call her that ’cause it’s grippy/ She thinkin’ it hip, she a hippie/ And she thinkin’ of lips, she gon’ lick me/ And she sendin’ a flick when she hit me/ With a kissin’ emoji, she misses me/ When she sees me, she say she gon’ strip me.”

Cash’s part on the track is the same as it is on “Dunk Contest.” J. Cole’s verse received a mixed response from fans, with one taking issue with his sexually explicit lyrics and joking: “What did Kendrick do to Cole.”

Another was more blunt about the song, which is Cole’s second release since he backed out of his rap battle with Kendrick Lamar following his appearance on Future and Metro Boomin‘s We Still Don’t Trust You.

“J Cole’s verse on that Cash Cobain song was fucking atrocious,” they wrote. For Cash Cobain, “Grippy” continues his hot streak of high-profile collaborations following the “Fisher” remix with Ice Spice, “Body” with A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie, and “Attitude” with Don Toliver and Charlie Wilson.

The 26-year-old has also been teasing a collaboration with the elusive Frank Ocean. When asked about forthcoming music in an interview with Billboard last month, the Bronx-born rapper revealed that he was set to record with the R&B star.

“I should be doing something with Frank Ocean soon, too. He fucks with my music,” he said.

J. Cole

If Cobain did secure a Frank collaboration, it would be the singer’s first release in over two years, even though he has been teasing fans with new music in recent months.

Cobain is expected to release his new EP Play Cash Cobain soon, with another A-lister, Drake, reportedly handling the art direction.

Soon after the joint went viral online, one fan joked wrote, and asked her: “Are you fucking Drake for features ?” Without missing a beat or explaining herself, she responded succinctly (and presumably sarcastically): “Yes.”

Drake has taken quite a shine to Sexyy Red since her rise to fame last year, recently referring to her as his guiding light. While sharing photos on Instagram from his It’s All a Blur — Big As the What? Tour with J. Cole and Lil Durk, the Canadian superstar bestowed a special title on his peer.

“Red really my muse in this short and confusing life,” he wrote in the social-media caption. That same month, Sexyy was recruited to play the mother of Drake’s child in the music video for their “Rich Baby Daddy” collaboration from For All the Dogs.

He previously called the St. Louis MC his “rightful wife” when the two linked up at his concert in New York over the summer. A viral photo showed the OVO Sound boss planting a passionate kiss on Sexyy’s cheek as she cozied up to him and caressed his face.

In early April, Joe Budden alleged that Drake was being paid to promote Sexyy Red. On an episode of his eponymous podcast, the former Slaughterhouse rapper offered a theory as to why Drizzy is closely aligning himself with Red.

Sexyy Red and Drake

“Respectfully, it sounds like a n-gga that could rap at that level that gets paid off of everybody’s deal tryna rap. That’s what it sounds like to me,” he said. “Oh, you think he just like being around Sexyy Red that much? … I can name some more people.”

Red issued a short and sweet response, simply writing on X (formerly Twitter): “They so dumb.”

The RIAA has confirmed that the single — which initially went gold (sales of 500,000 units) in October 2014, three months after its initial release — was certified diamond as of Thursday (May 23).

Nicki Minaj

A single-going diamond means that it has sold 10 million units, with a “unit” being either one digital download or 150 on-demand audio or video streams.

“Bang Bang” is Minaj’s second song to achieve such a certification. 2011’s “Super Bass,” which initially went gold in November of that year, was certified diamond on March 29, 2024.

The only female rapper to have more diamond singles than the Young Money First Lady is Cardi B. The “Bodak Yellow” rapper achieved her third diamond single with the Bad Bunny-assisted “I Like It” back in December 2021.

Speaking of “Super Bass,” Nicki’s ex, Safaree Samuels, recently shared that he was embarrassed by his cameo in the smash hit video. Taking to X (formerly Twitter) on Tuesday (May 21), the reality star reminisced and laughed at his dance moves featured in the visual.

“Yo what the hell was I doing in that super bass video,” he wrote with laughing emojis. “yo I am really a crazy a&& ni%%%a I don’t give a sh*% bout nothing [laughing emojis]”

Nicki Minaj

The song may have been on Safaree’s mind, as an AI version of “Super Bass” began circulating online earlier in the week, which Nicki was quick to condemn.

In a since-deleted post on X that went viral on Saturday (May 18), the “Starships” rapper quote-tweeted an AI-generated version of the Pink Friday hit reworked into a 1970s-themed disco tune.

“I hate yall so bad for this,” she wrote, though it wasn’t clear if she was being sarcastic or she seriously hated the production. Nicki Minaj previously made it clear that she is not at all a fan of AI-generated art.

Nicki Minaj

Last month, she joined Q-Tip, Chuck D, and other artists to support a campaign that aims to protect musicians from having their creations jacked by artificial intelligence.

An open letter published by the Artists’ Rights Alliance seeks to push back against the use of said technology within the music industry as tech companies like YouTube have been experimenting with it via music-making tools.

It reads, in part: “We must protect against the predatory use of AI to steal artists’ voices and likenesses.”

Gula-Ndebele Arrested Alongside Five Others for Cocaine Possession

0

Gula-Ndebele Arrested Alongside Five Others for Cocaine Possession. The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has confirmed the arrest of Eleph Khumbula Gula-Ndebele, along with five other individuals, for their involvement in the unlawful possession of cocaine. The suspects, including Gula-Ndebele, were arrested following an investigation into a drug trafficking ring that has been operating in Harare.

According to a statement released by the ZRP, Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi revealed that Gula-Ndebele was implicated by Tsitsi Vundla, a victim of drug abuse. Vundla had been arrested earlier in March 2024 and provided authorities with critical information that led to the arrest of Gula-Ndebele and his accomplices. The police also confirmed that the other suspects involved in the drug trafficking operation are Talent Mapanga, Takunda Godoka, Tanaka Chimuka, Tapiwa Mutebuka, and Sam Chasaya.

The arrest of Gula-Ndebele on May 24, 2024, was a significant breakthrough for the CID Drugs and Narcotics unit, who had been investigating the case for some time. Acting on a tip-off, detectives apprehended the 39-year-old Gula-Ndebele at a residence along Knightsbridge Road in Highlands, Harare. During the search of his vehicle, a Volkswagen Polo with the registration number ABF 8319, the police recovered a sachet containing cocaine, which had been hidden in the front door panel of the car.

Gula-Ndebele & 5 others arrested for unlawful possession of cocaine

The arrest has raised further concerns about the growing problem of drug abuse in Zimbabwe, which has been steadily increasing over the past few years. The police, however, emphasized that they will not back down in their fight against illegal drug possession and trafficking in the country. Assistant Commissioner Nyathi reiterated the ZRP’s commitment to eradicating drug abuse and related criminal activities. He also encouraged members of the public to continue providing information on individuals involved in drug trafficking.

Nyathi made an appeal to the public, urging them to report any suspicious activity related to drug abuse or trafficking to the police. He highlighted that individuals can reach the National Complaints Desk at (0242) 703631 or use the dedicated WhatsApp line at 0712 800 197. Additionally, reports can be made in person at any nearest police station. The police are hoping that continued cooperation from the public will help dismantle drug trafficking networks that have been operating within Zimbabwe’s borders.

The arrest of Gula-Ndebele and his associates has drawn attention to the ongoing efforts by law enforcement to curb the illicit drug trade in Zimbabwe. It is believed that drug trafficking networks like the one Gula-Ndebele was allegedly involved in have been importing and distributing various illegal substances across the country, contributing to a rise in addiction and related crimes. Cocaine, in particular, has been identified as one of the most dangerous and widely abused substances, leading to widespread concern over the safety of communities in urban areas.

In response to this issue, the police have been working closely with other agencies, both locally and internationally, to combat the drug trade. The ZRP’s proactive stance in addressing drug abuse and trafficking underscores their commitment to public safety and the well-being of Zimbabwean citizens.

As the investigation continues, police are urging the public to remain vigilant and report any individuals or activities they suspect may be linked to drug trafficking. Authorities hope that these arrests will serve as a warning to others involved in the illegal drug trade and will deter further criminal activities related to drug abuse.

With the public’s ongoing cooperation, the police remain hopeful that they can make even greater strides in tackling the growing problem of drug abuse in Zimbabwe. The ZRP has vowed to continue their efforts to rid the nation of harmful substances and to create a safer environment for all Zimbabweans.
