Ice Cube Doesn’t Believe Drake’s Beef With Kendrick Lamar Is Over

0

Ice Cube has said that he doesn’t believe Kendrick Lamar is finished beefing with Drake. Speaking with Shaquille O’Neal on a recent episode of The Big Podcast, the N.W.A legend offered his thoughts on the fiery rap beef that ended up involving families and wild accusations about pedophilia and domestic abuse.

Ice Cube

Offering his take on the feud, Cube said: “I always approve of rap battles. That’s the essence of the game. It goes back to Busy Bee and Kool Moe Dee and even further than that. It’s part of the game as long as it doesn’t get physical because that’s not rap.

“I think Kendrick is up, he’s landed the more hard and effective punches, but that doesn’t mean Drake can’t get off the canvas. If I was Kendrick, I’d stay locked and loaded just to be ready for whatever.”

The comments mark a change in tone for Ice Cube, who recently declared himself a critic of rap feuds despite being involved in a few himself.

“I don’t like seeing rappers beef,” he said. “I don’t think it’s necessary to have a great career, but it happens. Hey, it’s part of the game, and I think when you’re in a beef, you can’t hold back. It’s like being in a fight; you can’t half punch, you gotta go all the way.”

In May, Ice Cube also gave himself the title of best diss song in Hip Hop history.

Ice Cube

Speaking to the crowd during a concert performance, Cube said: “‘No Vaseline’ is the best diss song in the history of Hip Hop, and I’ll tell you why. One MC, myself, I took out four muthafuckas and their manager. You can’t beat that. You can’t beat that.”

He added: “But we did that over 30 years ago, so as it stands today, I got nothing but love for N.W.A, okay? Nothing but love for Dr. Dre, nothing but love for MC Ren, DJ Yella, Eazy-E rest in peace.”

During a conversation with DJ Whoo Kid last year, Ice Cube scoffed at a ranking of the “Most Unforgettable Diss Tracks in Hip Hop History,” by The Root, in which “No Vaseline” was listed in third place while 2Pac’s “Hit ‘Em Up” sat in the number one spot.

Ice Cube

“How’s 2Pac number one when he needed help on that record?” questioned Cube, referring to the fact that The Outlawz rap on the song as well.

“Me, ‘No Vaseline,’ one MC. I love Nas but it’s not,” he quickly segued as the host interjected to inform him of who occupied second place: Nas with “Ether.” “Took out four n-ggas and the manager. I mean, damn! Got to give me credit for that,” he continued. “[The] group was over. I don’t know if they made another record after that. So, nah man. Sorry!”

Resident Evil Won’t Leave the Raccoon City Saga Behind After CODE: 0 Remakes

0

Resident Evil’s Raccoon City Saga is among the most influential narratives in gaming history. Though the series’ mainline entries have moved away from the events of Raccoon City, Resident Evil’s remake series has reintroduced the series’ classic titles to modern audiences.

Resident Evil

Recent leaks suggest that Resident Evil 0 and Resident Evil CODE: Veronica remakes are in the works, completing the remake series’ reintroduction of classic Raccoon City events. However, Resident Evil shouldn’t leave the Raccoon City Saga behind, as another set of Raccoon City titles also deserves the remake treatment.

The Resident Evil franchise boasts over 30 unique titles, though only 10 are considered mainline entries. Following massive success in the late 90s and early 00s, the franchise has gone through a resurgence in recent years, with both mainline entries and classic remakes earning critical and commercial praise.

At present, CODE: Veronica and Resident Evil 0 are the only classic mainline titles without a modern remake. However, some of the franchise’s long-forgotten spin-offs offer unique perspectives on the series’ early events, which modern fans could find quite valuable. The Resident Evil Outbreak titles are one such pair of games.

Resident Evil

Resident Evil Outbreak Offers a Fresh Perspective on the Raccoon City Incident

Resident Evil Outbreak was released for the PlayStation 2 worldwide between 2003 and 2004, depicting a series of episodic character-focused storylines in Raccoon City. Set concurrently with Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3, Outbreak follows a group of eight survivors as they attempt to escape Raccoon City before the U.S. government missile strike.

Players could choose which survivor to play as, and each came with a certain loadout, advantages, and disadvantages. However, no character could survive alone, and it was up to the group to work together to make it through each of the title’s five scenarios. The game shares many locals with Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3, offering a new perspective on the Raccoon City incident.

Resident Evil

What made Resident Evil Outbreak’s scenarios even more unique was the urgency and teamwork with which players had to complete them. At the beginning of each scenario, all players are infected with the T-Virus, which appears as a virus gauge in their menu. Both time and damage increased the virus gauge, and a player’s character would die if their gauge reached 100%.

The success of Outbreak led to the release of a sequel, Resident Evil Outbreak: File #2, between 2004 and 2005, introducing five additional scenarios to the Raccoon City saga. However, the series struggled to gain a footing worldwide, due to another unique, and ahead-of-its-time feature, which wouldn’t gain popularity until years later.

Resident Evil Outbreak’s Most Ambitious Feature Would Flourish in a Remake

While the Resident Evil Outbreak series’ narrative was focused on the past, its core gameplay feature was well ahead of its time. Both titles were built around the PlayStation 2’s rarely utilized network play feature, allowing up to four players to escape Raccoon City together. This early attempt at online co-op was incredibly ambitious, with many players unaware, or uninterested in online play.

What’s more, players had to purchase an additional accessory, the Network Adapter, to even do so. Because of this, many players missed out on the full Resident Evil Outbreak experience. The series had a lot of potential but suffered due to the times in which its core feature was released. However, that same feature makes it an excellent candidate for a remake today.

Resident Evil

The Resident Evil Outbreak series could flourish if remade for a modern audience. While the rumored Resident Evil 0 and CODE: Veronica remakes complete the classic mainline series, the franchise doesn’t need to leave Raccoon City behind. Remakes of both Outbreak and File# 2 offer a compelling experience to veteran fans and newcomers alike, offering unique perspectives on the events and locals that started it all. Following the release of the Resident Evil 0 and CODE: Veronica remakes, the Resident Evil franchise still has plenty of titles deserving of a modern take. However, few, if any, deserve it more than Resident Evil Outbreak.

New Metal Slug Game Shadow Dropped

Metal Slug Attack Reloaded has just shadow-dropped on multiple platforms. While many fans are already aware of the upcoming Metal Slug Tactics game coming out, a surprising announcement was unveiled by SNK that a different Metal Slug entry has been released without too much fanfare. The tower defense game was previously released on mobile in 2016 and was shut down in early 2023.

Metal Slug

While many gamers are familiar with the run-and-gun gameplay that Metal Slug provides, the series has also tried to explore various improvements and changes to its formula. The aforementioned Metal Slug Tactics as well as a mid-2000s Metal Slug 3D game deviates from the side-scrolling shoot-em-up that the series is known for. However, another lesser-known entry in the series was the mobile-only game Metal Slug Attack Reloaded.

In a surprising bit of news, Metal Slug Attack Reloaded has just been released digitally on multiple platforms, including the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation, and others. The popular mobile game is a tower defense take on the Metal Slug franchise. While it includes everything that the mobile version has had, it also introduces a new character in the form of Mostro. Not only that, but it also freshens up some features to take advantage of modern hardware.

A complete audio overhaul, a new story mode, and a gallery mode are just some of the new things introduced in this new version of the game. With the Metal Slug franchise being one of the best-sellers in the SNK library, expectations for this title are high.

Metal Slug

Platforms That Metal Slug Attack Reloaded Is Available On

  • Nintendo Switch
  • PlayStation 5
  • PlayStation 4
  • Xbox Series X/S
  • PC

Admittedly, another Metal Slug mobile game had also made the rounds online previously. Metal Slug: Awakening only came out on select platforms, but followed the series’ iconic gameplay closer than Attack Reloaded and the upcoming Metal Slug Tactics. Most fans were hoping that it would be the game to garner a multiple console release, but that has yet to happen. Still, the premise of the franchise doing other gaming genres should help the characters, setting, and lore grow deeper, thereby creating more possible content in the future

Metal Slug

While there is no clear news on whether the series will return to its roots with a mainline entry, many fans can only assume that Metal Slug AttackReloaded being released could help keep the franchise on the radar. The Metal Slug series is one of the best cooperative shoot-em-ups ever released, and a return to the original formula is inevitable. Hopefully, SNK can assess the need for a new mainline entry once the reviews for Metal Slug Attack Reloaded come out.

Honkai: Star Rail 2.4 Leak Hints at 3 Free Eidolons for Popular Character

0

A new Honkai: Star Rail leak has revealed that players will be able to collect three Eidolons for free during the upcoming Version 2.4. Eidolons are powerful character upgrades in Honkai: Star Rail that can take a character’s on-field potential to the next level.

Honkai Star Rail

Honkai: Star Rail’s official social media accounts have already confirmed that two new characters, Yunli and Jiaoqiu, will join the roster in Version 2.4. HoYoverse has also confirmed that one of the most popular four-star characters, March 7th, will get a new Hunt form in the same update.

Eidolons can be acquired in a couple of ways: using the Starlight Exchange shop, pulling duplicates from Warps, or completing a couple of update-exclusive events. Credible Honkai: Star Rail leakers, UBatcha1 and HomDGCat, have revealed that players will be able to get three Eidolons for March 7th by participating in limited events during update 2.4.

At the moment, there is no information on whether these Eidolons will be tied to March 7th’s new Hunt form or her current Preservation form. However, many players suspect that the new Eidolons will serve as March 7th’s new form. While the free Eidolons will be offered for a limited time, probably for the duration of the event, once they are claimed, they will become a permanent part of March 7th’s build.

Honkai Star Rail

The fact that March 7th’s new form transforms her into a Hunt character could mean that she will be a better fit for the main DPS role, considering that Hunt characters in Honkai: Star Rail excel at dealing single-target damage. According to recent leaks, the first Eidolon for March 7th’s Hunt form is called My Sword Stirs Starlight and increases the Crit Damage of her next Basic Attack by 36%.

Her second Eidolon, Blade Dances on Waves’ Fight, makes her launch a follow-up attack after the Master uses their Basic Attack or Skill to attack an enemy. The damage is equal to 60% of March 7th’s ATK stat. The third Eidolon is fairly simple as it increases March 7th’s Skill level in Honkai: Star Rail by 2 and the overall level limit to 15. The Basic Attack level also increases by 1, and the limit is raised to 10.

Honkai Star Rail

There is still no official information about when March 7th will exactly receive her new form, but many fans expect it to happen in the first part of 2.4. Going by previous update releases, Trailblazers can expect Honkai: Star Rail Version 2.4 to drop around July 30.

Mortal Kombat 1 Releases New Update for June 2024

The recently released June hotfix for Mortal Kombat 1 has added new graphics options, delivered bug fixes, and made tweaks to some of the game’s fighters, including its latest DLC character, Homelander. Mortal Kombat 1 is the 12th main installment in the long-running franchise created by the now-defunct Midway Games.

Mortal Kombat 1

Released last September, Mortal Kombat 1 is a series reboot developed by NetherRealm Studios that also acts as a direct sequel to its predecessor, 2019’s Mortal Kombat 11. The newer title’s roster has expanded since its launch, with the newest DLC character, Homelander, coming out on June 11.

Just a week after Homelander’s release in Mortal Kombat 1, NetherRealm Studios has dropped a new game update that makes some significant adjustments to The Boy’s antagonist and several other fighters.

Among the changes Mortal Kombat 1’s June hotfix brought was fixing Homelander’s ability to cancel an action and use his Flight move upon being knocked down more than once during a combo that does not consume Super Meter, the energy bar that allows players to use special moves or combos.

Mortal Kombat 1

The June 18 hotfix also implemented tweaks to other Mortal Kombat 1 characters, namely Cyrax, Khameleon, Janet Cage, and Peacemaker. It delivered general fixes and added a new 60 FPS option for Steam and Epic Games Store players as well.

Mortal Kombat 1 players were unhappy with the Homelander DLC over the visual downgrade that was present in the Nintendo Switch port. While the likeness of actor Antony Starr, who portrayed Homelander in the acclaimed The Boys TV series, was faithfully adapted in Mortal Kombat 1’s PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC versions, his character’s model featured less polished lighting, textures, and facial expressions on the Switch.

Prior to Homelander’s release, Mortal Kombat 1’s port on the Nintendo handheld was already criticized for its poor graphics, long loading times, and bugs.

Mortal Kombat 1

Two new Mortal Kombat 1 fighters, Takeda Takahashi and Ferra, are scheduled to come out on July 23. Players who bought the game’s Deluxe Edition or the Kombat Pack expansion will get one week of early access to these new characters.

Ferra was supposed to join Mortal Kombat 1’s roster as a Kameo Fighter in June, but her release was delayed to make sure that she would be able to assist players to the best of her abilities, the development team explained. Mortal Kombat 1’s Kameo Fighters work similarly to Mortal Kombat 11’s assisted fighters, providing players with support characters that can also perform their own Fatalities and Brutalities.

Mortal Kombat 1 June Hotfix Patch Notes

PC Steam & Epic Games Store

  • Added a new Graphics Setting to increase the 30 FPS lock on certain sections to 60 FPS, which is intended for users with High-End Hardware
  • The new setting to enable this is accessed via Main Menu > Settings > Graphics > Experimental > 60 FPS Mode: OFF (Default)/ON
  • Note that this setting will not affect pre-rendered movies and will be automatically disabled during Online Matches to avoid stability issues

Mortal Kombat 1

General Fixes & Adjustments

Controversial Mzansi artist, Shebeshxt has been transferred to a general ward after spending almost nine days in ICU following a car crash.

The controversial rapper was involved in a car crash on his way to a gig on June 8. He was seriously injured, his partner Kholofelo Moloto sustained moderate to serious injuries and their nine-year-old daughter died at the scene.

Family spokesperson James Magoro shared the latest developments with the publication, revealing Shebeshxt underwent surgery on his leg and shoulder.

Magoro said they hoped Shebeshxt would be fit to attend his daughter’s funeral on Saturday at Lebowakgomo, Limpopo.

Shebeshxt

“He is still in hospital but he will attend the funeral. We are looking to maybe have people from the hospital assist in bringing him to the funeral and then take him back to the hospital to recover. He still needs to fully recover. He had dislocations. One leg they put steel in and [fitted] a moon boot. The leg is OK. He can step with both [legs].”

Magoro said though the family had not spoken to Shebeshxt about the death of his daughter, he was aware she had not survived the accident.

Shebeshxt

“We can’t talk to him about his loss because we understand, but he can see his child is not around any more and his partner got hurt. He asked about Kholo’s whereabouts but did not ask about the child because he knows the child did not make it.”
