Makhadzi will no longer be working with Open Mic Productions

According to reports, Makhadzi bids Open Mic Productions farewell. She added that she decided not to have her contract renewed in order to concentrate on her own firm, Makhadzi Entertainment, and other business endeavours.

After three years of a good and productive working partnership, Makhadzi’s contract with the record label expired in March 2023. She started working with the company in March 2020. Four studio albums by Makhadzi were released under the label, and they fared incredibly well, earning gold status and receiving a tonne of streaming attention.

She said that she was hoping for a solution but when the label did not respond, she sent a final email accepting the contract’s termination. Makhadzi’s assertion has not yet been validated by or addressed by Open Mic Productions.

Makhadzi

“I travelled the world which was made possible by my relationship with Open Mic Production. I performed in countries such as United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, Nigeria, Senegal and SADC countries, and many other countries across the globe.

“I also won awards such as ‘Ubuntu Arts and Culture Diplomacy Award’, ‘Mzansi Viewers Choice Award’, Basadi Music Award’, ‘AFIMA’, ‘South African Music Award (SAMA)’ and ‘Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards’ to name a few.”

She expressed gratitude to the record company for all of their hard work and dedication to the success of her career in her statement.

Recent months have been difficult for her career, with lost opportunities and non-refunded booking costs.

Additionally, she has been the subject of conflicting reports regarding her relationship with fellow musician Master KG.

Despite these setbacks, she continues to be a well-known musician in South Africa with a devoted following. The conflict between Open Mic Productions and Makhadzi was reported in April 2023.

The multi-award-winning celebrity announced on social media that her three-year contract with Open Mic Productions has come to an end.

Open Mic Productions, however, responded to the announcement with an alternative statement in opposition to the confirmation.

The record company purportedly indicated that she may still be under their control despite their contract issues in a coded statement that was released. After signing a contract with the firm, it is claimed that the Limpopo singer neglected to market the Kokovha footwear.

The firm suffered a great loss as a result of Makhadzi’s refusal to promote the sneakers by wearing them to her performances and on stage. Sammy Mhaule, the founder and CEO of Kicks Sportswear, has expanded his business without the star from Limpopo by opening a new location.

Nacinda Combrink, a representative for Kicks Kokovha at Radley Attorneys, said that they have subsequently issued rule 35 discovery notices on Makhadzi and Open Mic but have not yet heard back.
