Mzansi Celebrates Mrs Mops Return To Reality Television

One of the breakout stars of the second season of The Real Housewives of Johannesburg was housewife turned socialite and content creator Mpumi ”Mrs. Mops” Mophatlane.

However, now it seems that Mrs. Mops was one step ahead in making the decision to ditch RHOJ as she is now set to front Showmax’s upcoming original reality show The Mummy Club. Excitement over Mrs. Mops’return to reality television.

On Monday, 29 May 2023, Showmax began the promotional trail for its upcoming original reality series The Mummy Club. It shared the premise of the series as:

“… A reality show that sees five glamorous Jozi influencers navigating the challenges of parenting – and the cutthroat world of “it moms.” The first episode kicks off with an R250 000 first birthday party, where some of the cast meet each other for the first time.”

The cast which is fronted by the RHOJ alumni will also include newcomers to the reality format such as, “Her Majesty, author and motivational speaker, who each has three kids, as well as new mom Nunurai, an event planner and florist to the stars, and beauty and health entrepreneur, and beauty pageant owner Ratile Mabitsela, who has five children.”

In light of the series which is set to premiere on Tuesday, 27 June 2023, Showmax has shared the official trailer for the show.

Given that the premise is focussed on the “mummies” and the relationships they have with their nannies. Mrs. Mops shared the relationship she has with her nanny Manche Thema by explaining:

“My nanny is everything to me and my kids. She is very loyal, loves children, and takes care of them like her own. She is a great person and a second mother to my children.”

Manche in turn shared: “My job is to look after the kids and it has been amazing. They are very polite and they listen to instructions. Even though they are privileged, they have humanity. Looking after them and seeing them grow brings me so much joy.”

The reality show is produced by POP24’s Zizi Velelo Alakhe, who shared the intention of the reality show as:

“The Mommy Club will “shows women that being a mom does not have to stop your life. You can still be glamorous, loving, young, ambitious and all things fabulous. Kids are an addition to your life; there is you before kids and there will be you after kids, so it is very important not to neglect yourself and your dreams.”

In light of Mrs. Mops’ inclusion, social media was elated to see her return to our screens in the near future.
