Makhadzi Shows Support To DJ Maphorisa After Assault Allegations

Makhadzi might be dealing with the matter of the alleged unfair contractual agreement she signed with the record label Open Mic. This comes after she blasted the record label for allegedly getting her to sign an evergreen contract unknowingly.

Despite this fact, Makhadzi has made it clear that her focus is not necessarily fighting the contractual matter. Instead, her current focus is readying her tongue-in-cheek EP which is said to be aptly titled Auto Renewal. The intention of the EP is to assert Makhadzi’s hit-making ability which will ensure she continues to tour.

However, it was who she decided to work with on the EP which had her returning to social media to assert that despite the scandal the producer might be currently facing, she supports them full-heartedly.

On Friday, 12 May 2023, Makhadzi took to Twitter to share that in order to ensure that her upcoming EP is a hit, she is working with DJ Maphorisa. As such, it did not take long for the public to question whether this was the right move for her.

Primarily, it was due to Maphorisa finding himself making headlines for all the wrong reasons this past week. As reported:

DJ and Amapiano music producer DJ Maphorisa has been allegedly arrested for assaulting his girlfriend, Thuli Phongolo. This comes after the former Generations: The Legacy actress and club DJ reportedly opened a case with the Sandton Police on Sunday (7 May 2023) afternoon.

…According to the City Press, Thuli Phongolo and DJ Maphorisa got into an argument that resulted in Phongolo being allegedly assaulted by DJ Maphorisa. Reportedly, the incident of their assault was revealed By Phongolo’s statement that she filed at the Sandton Police Station.

However, since then Thuli has since dropped her assault charges against Maphorisa and the matter of the current state of their relationship remains unknown. This is because neither party has gone to social media or released an official statement on the state of the relationship after this past week’s events.

Moreover, Makhadzi seemed to want to make it clear that she does not care what scandal Maphorisa is currently involved in. This is as she made it clear that she has brotherly love for one-half of the hit Amapiano duo Scorpion Kings.
Not only that, but she would continue to not only work but support him.

However, it seems that for her followers the biggest concern was whether or not Makhadzi signed a split-sheet deal which would ensure that she gets her money given her recent revelations about signing yet another unfair music deal…
