Makhadzi clinches acting deal for new e.TV drama series

Makhadzi bags her first acting gig as she announces that she will join the upcoming e.TV series Isiphetho. She will be appearing on eTV’s daily drama series Isiphetho on an episode that airs on Thursdays at 18h30. The singer, real name Ndivhudzannyi Ralivhona will be acting as herself. Taking to social media, Makhadzi shared the exciting news and shared a trailer of the TV drama.

I am so excited about this good news. Please switch on your TV. From the world stage to camera lights action… catch me on eTV’s ISIPHETHO Destiny this Thursday at 18:30. The songstress makes her cameo appearance as our four friends achieve their dreams of opening a restaurant,” the statement read. Makhadzi will also perform two of her hit jams, including her new trending single, Letswai.

“They decided to host a launch for it with the headline act being none other than Makhadzi. She appears as herself and throws a performance with her hot songs, Matorokisi and Letswai. Isiphetho is the new e.TV soapie that is tipped to replace Rythm City, which dominated the 6.30pm time slot for 13 successful seasons.

The show is set in the heart of Soweto, in the community of Mzimhlope. It follows the lives of four friends who were bound by a life-changing secret during their teenage years.

The acting deal is a breath of fresh air for the songstress. This after it emerged last month that she failed to come to a settlement with The Kicks Brand. She faces a pretrial together with her former record label, Open Mic Productions. Formerly known as Kicks Sportswear, the company took the two parties to court and demanded a R8.2-million settlement. This for their failure to promote Kicks Kokovha, the company’s then-new addition to their sneaker brand.

After multiple attempts to resolve the issue without going to trial, Sammy Mhaule, Kicks Brand founder, declared that it was time to take the case to the next level.
