Makhadzi Attacked On Stage by Fans in Zimbabwe

Limpopo born singer and dancer Makhadzi reportedly got attacked while performing on stage in Zimbabwe this past weekend. Zimoja reports that fans were disappointed after being served a lukewarm performance by the Matorokisi hitmaker, even after arriving late for her slot.

Makhadzi was performing in Mutare, Zimbabwe for Good Friday. Fans allegedly had to wait for the performer for hours until she arrived at 1 AM. Not only was she late, but she also was apparently lip-syncing and gave a very lacklustre performance with her 2 dancers.

Makhadzi has gained popularity in missing gigs over the past few months. Rabelani Madula accused Makhadzi of not honouring a gig he booked her for after paying her full booking fee which was R20 000. He told Daily Sun, “She stopped taking my calls, She also stopped responding to my messages. On 26 December I met her at Makhadzi Family Day at Giyani Stadium. When I saw her, she promised to pay me after the show.

“The purpose of arranging this gig was to get my money back from her. I knew that she’d be paid R100 000. That gig was happening on 29 December, and I was actually hoping she’d pay me. So, after that gig, I started communicating with her, But she ignored me,” he revealed.

“She said she did not have money but promised to perform instead. She said I must organise another event, which is supposed to be on Sunday, 29 January. But again, she’s ignoring me,” he alleged.

She also previously missed another gig to perform at the Northern Cape Heritage Festival to perform on September 24 2022.

Her label Open Mic released a statement apologising to her fans.

“Open Mic and Makhadzi would like to apologise to the Northern Cape Heritage Festival and all her fans in the Northern Cape for her failure to make it to the show this past Saturday (24 September 2022).

“Makhadzi had a packed schedule this past weekend, a Jet was organized to ensure a smooth travel from all her shows, later in the day she encountered an aviation obstacle which made it impossible for Makhadzi and crew to land a private Jet in either Bloemfontein or Kimberly as both airports close operations much earlier than her anticipated arrival,” the statement continues.

“Several other efforts were made to transport Makhadzi and crew to this event, these efforts where however not successful taking into account the time of the day, Makhadzi’s safety and that of her crew.Makhadzi apologises with no reservations to all her beautiful fans in the Northen Cape and the organizers of this precious events. Makhadzi was looking forward to this event and she promises to come to the Northern Cape very very soon,” they concluded.
