Jamie Foxx’s New Freestyle Proves He Hasn’t Lost His Spark After Health Scare

Jamie Foxx has made yet another public appearance following his hospitalization — but instead of speaking about his health, he’s back in his element as an artist. On Tuesday (July 25), music industry veteran Breyon Prescott posted a jovial Instagram video of the Oscar-winning actor, comedian, and singer freestyling while simultaneously banging out a beat on an all-gold drum machine.

“Last night I was in Miami/ I was on my Uncle Luke/ Feelin’ like I won a Grammy/ Hold up, wait, fuck a Grammy, gimme the loot/ She told me to meet me at 11/ 12:30 at 11/ They, not 10s, they 11s/ So I met em’ at 11, woo!” he rapped off the dome.

“THIS IS HOW WE HAVE MADE SO MANY #1 HITS TOGETHER,” Prescott captioned the clip. “MILLIONS OF RECORDS SOLD !!! MY BROTHER @iamjamiefoxx IS TRULY THE MOST GIFTED INDIVIDUAL THAT I HAVE EVER WORKED WITH, SO BLESSED TO HAVE HIM BACK !!! THE BEST PART ABOUT HIM IS HE HAS ALWAYS TRUSTED ME !!!”

Prescott, one of Jamie’s closest and most successful collaborators, also revealed the “Unpredictable” hitmaker is working on new music, writing: “THIS NEW ALBUM WILL BE ANOTHER CLASSIC !!! [fire emojis] !!! GOD IS THE GREATEST !!! [100 emojis][muscle emojis] !!!”

Many celebrities took to the comments section and were elated that Foxx was back in the driver’s seat of creativity. “[fire emoji] he’s back,” Swizz Beatz wrote, while fellow Verzuz founder Timbaland and producer Polow Da Don expressed their excitement in emoji form.

The freestyle comes just days after Jamie Foxx addressed the persistent rumors about his health since he suffered a “medical complication” back in April.

“First of all, I want to say thank you to everybody that just prayed man, and sent me messages,” he said in an Instagram video. “I cannot even begin to tell you how far it took me and how it brought me back.

“I know a lot of people were waiting or wanting to hear updates but to be honest with you, I just didn’t want you to see me like that man … I didn’t want you to see me with tubes running out of me and trying to figure out if I was gonna make it through. […] I went to hell and back [and] my road to recovery had some potholes as well.”

Foxx credited his sister and his daughter, Corrine Foxx, for “saving his life,” and again thanked his fans, friends, and family for their continued support as he worked his way back to health.

The 55-year-old also addressed some of the speculation about his health — specifically, that the undisclosed medical complication had left him paralyzed and without his vision.

“Some people said I was blind, but as you can see, the eyes are working just fine,” he said while crossing his eyes in jest, adding that he wasn’t paralyzed, either.

Last month, Foxx and his team confirmed that he did not suffer a “vaccine injury” from COVID-19. That claim, which went viral on social media, was originally started by far-right provocateur Charlie Kirk and amplified when gossip columnist A.J. Benza and Dr. Drew Pinksy talked about it on an episode of Benza’s podcast.

Benza claimed that he had a source “in the room” with Foxx when he was supposedly forced to get the COVID vaccine, after which he allegedly had a stroke due to a blood clot.
