DJ Sumbody remembered a year after his passing
Oupa John Sefoka, famously known as DJ Sumbody will be remembered in a celebration that will take place this weekend. The businessman and music star died in a hail of bullets when unknown assailants opened fire on his vehicle in the early hours of November 20 2022 in Woodmead, Johannesburg.The main event is set for Saturday, coinciding with DJ Sumbody’s killing more than a year ago. The event will also pay tribute to his legacy.
Koketso Sefoka, DJ Sumbody’s brother and spokesperson for the family, said the weekend event will set in motion The Cape 2 Samba Festival is a very special kick-off of the country’s party season, as it’s also a commemoration of the growing legacy of my brother DJ Sumbody,” said Koketso.
“This festival really reflects his boisterous approach to his short but well-lived life, founded on his own brand of creativity and unique way of bringing people together.
“We’re inviting everyone to come and celebrate this momentous occasion with us with a sensational Samba soiree.” After closing its doors temporarily in August, the Ayepyep Lifestyle in Cape Town announced in September that it was preparing to resume operations.
