Family spokesperson Eddy Mutungutungu said they are expecting those in the sports fraternity, Ministers of Sports, Arts and Culture Zizi Kodwa, and celebrities to attend the memorial service. “The Rose will be buried at Heroes Acre at Westpark Cemetery on Thursday,” Mutungutungu added.

His family is still waiting for autopsy results, they suspect that he died from a heart attack. According to a source, the family doesn’t suspect any foul play. “It is likely that he died from heart attack also because of the position he was discovered in,” said a source. Thobela’s ex-wife, Sandra Thobela, who is based in Spain arrived in the country last week Thursday with their two children Ntombi and Dingaan Junior to attend the funeral.
