Unbeknownst to his fans – known as the “Titch Gang” – Amapiano artist Costa Titch has been buried in a private funeral service. The pint-size star was laid to rest on Wednesday, 15 March. He will be remembered in a public memorial service and tribute concert on Saturday, exactly a week after his death.

Costa – real name Costantinos Tsobanoglou – died after collapsing suddenly on stage over the weekend. The rapper was performing at the Ultra Music Festival in Johannesburg. He was 28 years old. In a statement posted on his social media accounts, the family of Costa Titch shared news of his funeral service.

Along with his private funeral, the family has remained mum on the cause of death. According to South African law, a post-mortem examination or autopsy determines the cause of death following an unnatural death.

“The autopsy is done at a Forensic Pathology Laboratory in the area where the death took place. The pathology medical practitioner will issue a death certificate, and the body will be released for burial once the autopsy has been completed”, reads a government directive.

According to Weekend Argus, Costa suffered a seizure brought on by flashing lights on stage. The publication claimed that the hitmaker had a history of epilepsy. According to the family, another memorial service in Costa Titch’s home province of Mpumalanga will occur at a future date.

Following the memorial service, a tribute concert will take place at the same venue. While tickets for both events have been fully updated, fans can stream the service via his YouTube channel.
