Ukhozi FM broadcaster and businesswoman, Zanele Mbokazi-Nkambule, will be buried this Saturday, 17 August. Her funeral service will be held at the ICC in Durban from 9am and she will be laid at her final resting place at Marianhill in Pinetown. Her memorial service, which is expected to be attended by industry colleagues, politicians, the business sector and her fans alike, will be held tomorrow at the GNF, near the Durban Station. The service will start at 12 in the afternoon.
MaZet, as she was popularily known in the media industry, died of lung cancer this week. Ironically, her funeral service will be held at the ICC, the same venue she had crammed thousands of gospel artists, musicians and sponsors for the inaugural SABC Crown Gospel Music Awards in August 2008.
Zanele joined Ukhozi FM in 1995, as one of the young presenters who were recruited and groomed by the late station manager, Welcome “Bhodloza” Nzimande. She presented a gospel show before leaving to venture into business.
