The rise of the no make-up trend in the Beauty industry
The beauty industry has many trends but the no make-up one stands out the most. This trend is one of the best because it promotes a healthy skincare routine, allowing your skin to flourish in its natural form. Known as the #nomakeupselfie, this trend dates back to 2014, when it started as a cancer campaign.
In 2017, Hollywood stars including Cindy Crawford, Kylie Jenner and Cameron Diaz joined in. And now, it has gained popularity with people from across the globe following suit as they ditch heavy make-up to embrace their natural beauty through the #nomakeupselfie.
This trend is not just about people showcasing their authentic selves but also highlights the importance of nurturing and maintaining healthy, glowing skin through superfood-infused skincare routines. Nicole Sherwin, founder of Eco Diva Natural, takes us through the process of embracing natural beauty through skincare.
“The no make-up selfie movement is not just about ditching make-up, it’s also a celebration of natural beauty and healthy skin. Achieving that radiant, make-up-free glow requires effort and dedication.
“One of the key components of this effort is 100% natural, cruelty-free, plant-powered superfood-infused skincare,” she says. She adds that if one wants that natural glow, one needs to be best friends with superfoods.
“Superfoods are nutrient-rich foods that offer a plethora of benefits for your skin and overall health. These foods are packed with vitamins, antioxidants and minerals that help nourish and rejuvenate your skin.”
Some of the most common superfoods for skin care include:
Avocado:
Turmeric:
Green tea:
Baobab:
Chia seeds
Aloe Vera:
“Incorporating these superfoods into your skincare routine can help you achieve a healthy and radiant complexion. But it’s not just about what you put on your skin, it’s also about what you avoid.
“Natural skincare involves steering clear of harsh chemicals, synthetic fragrances and other irritants that can damage your skin in the long run.
“Instead, opt for products that are cruelty-free, organic and free from harmful additives. Many brands now offer clean and natural skincare lines that harness the power of natural ingredients to enhance your skin’s natural beauty,” says Sherwin
