Mangaliso J Ngema Cleared Of R*pe Charges

0

The charges against Mangaliso J Ngema were laid in June 2022 by his biological sister, Queen.

At the time he took to social media to respond to the allegations, saying that Queen had not been well since April 2022 and was admitted to hospital for psychotic behavior but refused psychiatric treatment and absconded from the facility.

Mangaliso J Ngema

The former “Generations” actor said Queen had been accusing her family and friends of various “shocking things” and alluded to the fact that she had been “taken over by bad spirits”.

Now, just a month short of a year, the NPA has officially withdrawn the charges.

“Breaking News!! Yesterday, the NPA officially withdrew charges against me for a false accusation of rape by a relative of mine. It’s been almost a year of going to court over a malicious and false charge,” he wrote in an Instagram post.

Mangaliso J Ngema

He went on to say that the accusation and ongoing court cases had “destroyed” his decades-long career in the entertainment industry.

“In the meantime, my personal brand and a career spanning over two decades in the film industry were destroyed, thanks to cancel culture. This was triggered by yet another false accusation of sexual harassment by a colleague.

“The pain has been real, and I do not wish it on my worst enemy. People have judged and doubted me without knowing the person I am,” he wrote.

Mangaliso J Ngema

The lesson Ngema learned from this ordeal was that people “love celebrating each other’s downfalls”.

“It’s an aberration that must be eradicated. All I can say is that as men, we are not safe. As long as you are alive, the same thing can happen to you. My gratitude goes to everyone who has believed in me during the toughest times of my life.

“My legal team, Adv Retha Richards, Marinus Labuscagane, and Louis Nuade, you are the best ever. My family and friends, I love you. ❤️”

Despite the stumble, Ngema made it clear that he is ready for any fight that comes his way.

“Now, going for the next Goliath… #gratitude #justicesystem.”

She told The Hollywood Reporter: “I was dead by the end. I was on my knees and I-never-wanna-work-again tired. But luckily, that didn’t last too long. So it was all part of the experience.”

She said: “I would have loved to have counted the number of days I spent in the make-up trailer. It probably was half the year … I really had an amazing hair and makeup team. Honestly, it was like a long meditation before work.

“It was four hours, but I almost wouldn’t have been able to do the day without it. So, strangely, I was fine with it.”

When asked how she passed her time during the hours in the make-up trailer, Lily explained: “I had a video reel of almost every interview Pamela Anderson has ever done, and so I learned them all by heart.

Bonang Matheba might be one of the country’s most beloved media personalities. However, instead of shying away from political discourse as has been done by a number of other notable Celebs in the country. The upcoming Young, Rich & African reality star has confronted such matters head-on.

Specifically, the presidential hopeful has been more than vocal when it comes to the running of the Department of Sports, Arts and Culture. As such, Matheba has yet again taken to social media to share her displeasure at the treatment of the national women’s football team, Banyana Banyana.

Bonang Matheba

“They’ll pretend to care ka July.” – Bonang

Unlike Bafana Bafana, Banyana Banyana has been a national soccer team that the country can pride itself on. Moreover, as it was confirmed that the team is set to make its way to the World Cup 2023.

One person who cannot be happier about this fact is Bonang Matheba. This is as she took to her Twitter to exclaim her excitement. Moreover, she made it clear that she is looking for the government to fund the traveling and living expenses of the team as they head to the World Cup.

However, in her subsequent tweet, Matheba seemed to have come to the reality of how the team is actually treated by the state. This is as she made the suggestive tweet that the government will only care to make a splash about Banyana Banyana in July 2023 ahead of them making their way to the World Cup 2023.

This is not the first time that Matheba has publicly defended Banyana Banyana and the need for the state to honour and remunerate the team. As reported:

Fighting tooth and nail for Banyana Banyana to be fairly paid after becoming victorious at the Women’s Africa Cup On Nation finals. Media personality Bonang Matheba is getting her flowers for taking up to Minister Nathi Mthethwa.

Bonang Matheba

Bonang Matheba has shown her fans and followers to be very vocal for what she is passionate about. This comes after her online squabble with Minister of Sports, Arts and Culture Nathi Mthethwa in the last month or so. Minister Nathi Mthethwa has been finding himself at Bonang Matheba’s bad side at every turn.

Taking to social media, tweeps have given Bonang Matheba props for taking up to Minister Nathi Mthethwa following Banyana Banyana’s win and becoming Women’s Africa Cup Of Nations title winners. As it stands Banyana Banyana players will each get an amount of R450 0000 from their 5.8 Million awarded by the Department of Sports, Arts and Culture.
