Multi-talented South African musician, Lady Zamar has ‘follow-upped’ her successful 2022 release “All (I Want)”, with a new single, “World’s Gone Crazy”.

The cover art for the new single which was recently shared on Lady Zamar’s social media platforms, features a striking image of the earth swamped in flames, highlighting the urgency and relevance of the song’s message.

Words such as “You’re canceled” and “We haven’t forgott10” are seen written on placards on the album cover.

These are words that have been said to Lady Zamar on social media following her sexual assault allegations leveled against fellow musician Jabulani “Sjava” Hadebe.

Viral sensation turned award-winning artist Toss, has delivered on his promise to deliver a new EP for his fans with the release of “Thought It Was Over”.

The self-explanatory title of the new EP allows fans to dig deeper into the star’s growth since the release of his platinum-selling single, “Mlando”.

Lyrically on “Thought It Was Over”, the young star carefully narrates his state of mind and highlights the things that matter the most.

Consisting of four brand new singles, the EP’s backdrop, and the overall theme is inspired by the music Toss grew up listening.

“I grew up listening to music from artists such as Izinyoka, Brown Dash as well as Mandoza. Those guys made music that spoke to me and my surroundings. I could relate to their lyrics, and I guess that’s why nami I am always shirtless with a bucket hat, it’s because of my music idols,” said Toss.

Nearly nine months since his last official release, hip hop artist Lucasraps is back with a brand-new single “uMuthi (Voodoo)”.

A well-thought-out theme enabled him to connect with his supporters on his personal journey that began shortly after the release of his debut album.

“uMuthi (Voodoo)” is the result of Lucasraps channeling a story never heard before or even spoken about. It echoes the trials, troubles, and tribulations he went through in his spiritual journey, his beliefs about himself and his peers in opposition to his enemies.

He said: “I believe that God has given me the gift of communicating clearly through music, spreading a message of hope & perseverance. In this song, I pray for everyone who is going through anything similar to what I have experienced.

Ndu Browns is one half of the popular musical duo Blaq Diamond. The duo found nationwide success when they were signed to the contentious record label Ambitiouz Entertainment. However, back in 2021, they opted to leave the record label.

However, they formally confirmed their exit from the record label in 2022 during their interview on Podcast and Chill with MacG and Sol Phenduka. At the time, it seemed that things were amicable between Blaq Diamond and the record label.

A fact that would have been rare in terms of outgoing artists from the record label. This is because most major artists leave the record label always leave with scandals surrounding their departure. As such, it seems that there actually is a drama following the recent accusations leveled against the duo by their former artist Sbahle.

[Sbahle recently] took to Instagram to put Umuthi Records, and Ndu, on blast for the alleged mistreatment she has suffered.

In her lengthy post, she started by writing in isiZulu. But when translated read:

“I’ve been quiet for too long, so it’s time to stand up for myself. I have been mistreated for way too long and kept quiet in the hopes that things will get better. However this did not happen, and now I find myself being mistreated yet again.”

People [came] up to my grandparents’ home. Ask for permission to move me to a different province, and promise to take care of my career and support me all the way only for them to abandon me, not knowing what I eat, where I sleep, [or] how I live. Now they are bullying me out of my music and taking it down.

So Bhuti Ndu Brown you really meant it when you called me, “A nothing?” Is that the reason why you are taking down the music that we agreed about? Is this how you are showing your support?”

Since the matter has gone viral, Ndu Browns took to Instagram to address the matter. As it was suspected, Browns seemed to confirm that Sbahle was being used by Ambitiouz to tarnish their reputation. This is as he wrote in part:

“Now (after Sbahle’s signing to Ambitiouz) what’s happening is, the label she is signed to is using her to fight their own battles with us. As you know we left the record label in 2021.”

Moreover, he addresses Sbahle’s accusation of having said she is nothing by stating:

“The other story of me saying she is nothing, are nothing but just lies to try and tarnish my name (they must at least provide some evidence to these accusations…)”

Ndu sentiments seem to support the already ongoing narrative on social media that Ambitiouz was again attempting to ruin the image of successful artists that have decided to part ways with the record label.

Before leaving Ambitiouz Entertainment, Blaq Diamond had expanded their brand to include being a music executive. This is as they created their own record label Umuthi Records under the Ambitiouz Entertainment umbrella.

As such, the record label launched itself through its first signed artist Sbahle. The female singer-songwriter’s first single Emlangeni would be an immediate hit as it currently sits with over 8.8 million viewers on YouTube since its release two years ago.

While Sbahle might have released other songs, it seems that her acclaim might have not meant profits. As such, she took to Instagram to put Umuthi Records, and Ndu, on blast for the alleged mistreatment she has suffered.

However, it seems that matters with her recent record label are no better. This comes after Makhadzi had initially confirmed that she had cut ties with her record label for the past three years Open Mic. However, similar to Nomcebo Zikode, Makhadzi has now found herself in a legal dispute with the record label.

Makhadzi puts Open Mic on blast

Taking to Twitter on Saturday, 6 May 2023, Makhadzi initially tweeted a cryptic post sharing that she is currently heartbroken. Fast forward to her subsequent tweets, which were a thread dedicated to sharing how Open Mic has treated her since she sent out the statement about her leaving the record label.

Makhadzi shared that while she believed that she had signed a three-year deal with the record label. This was actually not the case. Moreover, she cannot dispute the contract as she does not have a copy and does not know what was in the fine print.

As such, her thread explains in part that:

I signed with Open Mic only for three years. In [these] sp three years I dropped 4 albums. I have never received any cent of my sales. Some of my albums [s] reached platinum, some gold. And a lot of [the] hit songs that reached platinum and gold. But I continue to work without complaining [because] all I wanted was to serve my contract, to avoid them saying I bridged the contract.

I’m talking about the contract that I signed and no one [was] allowed to give me a copy. I worked with Open Mic without a copy of my contract ever since they said they will send it. I kept on reminding them but no one was willing to send me my contract.”

In her subsequent tweets, Makhadzi explains how the record label has automatically renewed her contract and when she released her statement about parting ways with Open Mic. In response, the record label sent her the official statement which indicated her auto-renewal three-year deal with them.

Moreover, she then suggested that the company deployed not only a feared middle-man to be her direct contact so that she does not get access to her contract. But she also accuses the record label of revenge porn in order to keep her complicit in all their irregular and seemingly unlawful ways…

As a result, Lady Zamar had steered away from releasing new music since the release of her fourth studio album Monarch back in 2019. However, on Friday, 5 May 2023, that all changed.

In April 2023, Lady Zamar teased the release of new music when she shared the official cover art for her then-upcoming new single. As reported:
