She highlighted her frustrations on social media, stating that some people, particularly those who are poor, tend to take advantage of her generosity. In a post, she wrote, “Poor people think they are clever,” which sparked various reactions.

Zodwa elaborated on her sentiments, explaining that her willingness to help should not be mistaken for a vulnerability to be exploited. She emphasized that she helps others because she has also received help to reach her current status. However, she pointed out that some people continuously take advantage of her kindness, which she finds unacceptable.

Zodwa mentioned that she has significant responsibilities as a mother and sister, and dealing with ungrateful individuals who repeatedly seek to exploit her kindness is burdensome. She also noted that many people understand her perspective but choose to attack and label her as arrogant instead​.
