Drake Makes His Mom Cry During Touching Moment Onstage In NYC

Drake paid tribute to his mom during one of his shows in New York City this week, and the moment brought her to tears. During the second of three nights at Madison Square Garden on Tuesday (July 25), Drizzy performed “Look What You’ve Done” while sitting next to his mother on a couch in the middle of the stage.

The song, which appears on his 2011 album Take Care, is dedicated to his mother, Sandi Graham, along with his uncle, Steve.

“They love your son, man, that boy gone/ You get the operation you dreamed of/ And I finally send you to Rome/ And get to make good on my promise/ It all worked out, girl, we should’ve known/ ‘Cause you deserve it,” he rapped.

Drake and his mother then shared a hug, before Sandi Graham could be seen welling up at the touching tribute — prompting cheers from the adoring crowd.

During earlier shows on his It’s All a Blur Tour, Drake sat on the onstage couch next to a younger lookalike of himself — although there was initially some confusion over whether it was a real person or a hologram.

However, the hologram theory was debunked when footage showed the lookalike handing a book to Drizzy. According to Complex, the younger Drake was played by a teenage actor named Brooklyn Cox from Texas.

“Look What You’ve Done” is far from the only time the 6 God has referenced his mom in his lyrics throughout his career, having named “Sandra’s Rose” from his 2018 album Scorpion after her.

In August, Drake got a tattoo dedicated to his mom on his face, getting Sandi Graham’s initials, “SG,” inked under his left eye.

The Toronto native also released Certified Lover Boy Nike Air Force 1s dedicated to his “incredible” mother in late 2022, with the words “love you forever” etched onto the midsole in elegant cursive font.

The shoe box contained the message: “For my mother, Your perennial care and nurturing is never lost on me. This book is the time capsule of our love. I long for the days when it was this simple. — Aubrey.”

Drake is set to play his third and final show at MSG on Wednesday (July 26) before traveling to Washington, D.C. for two concerts on July 28 and 29.
