We have seen an increment in the number of American celebrities who are a big fans of Amapiano and we could not be more proud. This shows that people around the globe are watching and are appreciating South African music, more importantly, they are embracing the diversity.
Scorpion Kings’ Kabza De Small is the latest ZAleb to have his craft appreciated by American superstars. Musician and dance extraordinaire, Usher was dancing to his hit song Sponono in a Versace advert. The track is from Kabza’s second studio album I Am The King Of Amapiano: Sweet and Dust and features musical giants Wizkid, Burna Boy and South African musicians Cassper Nyovest and his partner in crime DJ Maphorisa.
In awe over yet another milestone, DJ Maphorisa said he knew Amapionao would be this big and also gushed over his voice making it to Usher’s Instagram. “I saw amapiano going big in dreams, I felt it. Sauta, it’s our time ereng voice ya Madumane ko IG ya Usher mara he, (how’s Madumane’s voice over there by Usher’s IG?)” he tweeted.
