Local beauty pageant Miss Soweto has announced the judges for this year’s finale which is taking place this Saturday, 27 November.
Miss Soweto 2020 Thobile Steyn will be crowning her successor.
Other positions to be occupied are First Princess and Second Princess, Miss Personality, Miss Photogenic and Miss Social Butterfly.
Media personality Bridget Masinga, former fashion and beauty editor Grace Mantjiu and Emmanuel Tjiya, lifestyle editor and editor-in-chief of S-Mag will be the judges and will choose this year’s winners.
The event will be hosted by Expresso show host Thabiso Makhubela and Jozi FM presenter, Refiloe Motsei.
Mokhele Makhothi, marketing manager of White Star Super Maize Meal, which is the main sponsor of the pageant said they are looking forward to discovering more stars through this platform.
“Miss Soweto has a dedicated following. It’s a glamorous occasion that kicks off the festive season and has launched many household names, including those of businesswoman Basetsana Kumalo, who was Miss Soweto in 1990; the CEO and founder of the Image Firm Doris Msibi, who wore the crown in 2000; and DJ and media personality Lerato Kganyago, who took the coveted title in 2005, among others,” he said.
Award-winning songstress Amanda Black will be a headliner, alongside South African Music Awards nominee Azana, and 2021 Idols SA season 17 top 16 finalist and Miss Soweto 2020 first runner-up Ithana.
