Beyonce Knowles-Carter will finally deliver the visuals to her love letter to Africa, her album “The Lion King: The Gift” album. Albeit the trailer was leaked and the Queen might not be happy with the early surprise gift she gave her fans world-wide, but what stood out for South Africans is the number of South African A-Listers set to feature on the upcoming Black Is King film.
The first to make an appearance on the trailer is “Black Panther” actress and South African stalwart, Connie Chiume. The veteran actress that is currently on “Gomora” has proved that her surprise removal from “Rhythm City” was a blessing in disguise.
Second recognizable South African personality is singer and actress, Nandi Madida. The ambassador of Lux proved that her signature haircut and play with colour can make her recognizable anywhere.
Another South African personality that made the cut for the trailer is by no means a surprise when thinking about top tier South African actors, Warren Masemola. The award-winning actor is the last South African talent that makes a cameo on the trailer.
Last recognizable South African actor that has made the grade is Nyaniso Dzedze. The celebrated actor is currently working with a veteran, Vusi Kunene on a project called The Wizard and set is set to play the character of Luzuko.
It is still unknown whether these are the only actors that will be part of the film that is rumoured to premiere on Disney Plus on Friday, 31 July 2020.
