One singer-songwriter that has had a tumultuous few years which has actually impacted their music releases is none other than Yamikani Janet Banda, more popularly known by her stage name Lady Zamar. For the past four years and counting Lady Zamar has been plagued by the backlash that came after her sexual assault and abuse case against ex, Sjava, was made public.
As a result, Lady Zamar had steered away from releasing new music since the release of her fourth studio album Monarch back in 2019. However, on Friday, 5 May 2023, that all changed.
In April 2023, Lady Zamar teased the release of new music when she shared the official cover art for her then-upcoming new single. As reported:
Singer and songwriter Lady Zamar’s latest alleged new music cover cause a stir across all social media platforms. Following being constantly tormented, harassed, and trolled especially on Twitter, it appears Lady Zamar is ready to let the world in on her own truth through music.
Without a doubt after Lady Zamar’s break-up with musician Sjava, her world kind of closed off on her. Surrounding what really transpired leading up to their break up where Sjava was accused of sexual misconduct and rape. Immediately, scores of fans and tweeps at large turned on Lady Zamar, and that was the beginning of the end for her.
At the time, it seemed that the reaction to the cover meant that her new music might be boycotted as Sjava supporters continued to press the musician for an apology. However, it seems that Lady Zamar went ahead with the release of her new single World’s Gone Crazy as she confirmed the release.
