Party popper #ShakespearesBirthday, the tweet read.”

Last month Dr. Kani took to Twitter to celebrate The Royal Shakespeare Company’s 60th anniversary. He said his play was part of the ten best plays produced by the company.

Dr. Kani was a part of Disney’s live-action remake of TheLion King, he voiced the role of Rafiki. He was also part of another major international production, the popular Black Panther. He played the role of King T Chala on the film. He starred alongside the late Chadwick Bosman who died last year following a long battle with colon cancer. However, Dr. Kani couldn’t attend his funeral due to lockdown restrictions at the time.
