GQOM queen Babes Wodumo has started receiving apologies from her Facebook fans.
This after she served them with letters of demand to apologise.
Mlungisi Khumbulani Zulu is one of the fans who tendered their apology.
On Thursday, he recorded a video profusely apologising to Babes Wodumo, Mampintsha, DJ Tira and his wife Gugu Khathi.
In the video clip, he said he was joking.
“I would like to apologise for the comment I made. Babes Wodumo had sent a message to DJ Tira to wish him a happy birthday. I then commented that ‘DJ Tira is 100% Sponge’s father’. The truth is, I had no knowledge of what I was talking about. I don’t personally know Tira and Babes, except from media platforms. I admit the joke was in bad taste and uncalled for.”
He added that he was a maskandi fan, and such jokes were ordinarily accepted in their circles.
“In our circles, we joke about anything, including our stars’ 4-5s. Such jokes are never personal and our maskandi heroes understand this. I’ve learnt my lesson. I now understand that celebrities are also human with feelings, and can be hurt by our ignorant comments.”
Babes Wodumo commented: “Apology accepted, Ndabezitha.”
Her fans also took turns to applaud Mlungisi for apologising.
Ziningi Cele said: “This guy is a better human being than most of us. Humbling himself in this platform says a lot about his character. Ignore those who are laughing. We’re happy she accepted your apology. This should be a lesson to social media bullies. One day, one of you will be singled out and you will think you are cursed.”
Mandisa Masikane commented: “He is a real man for admitting his mistake. I wish others can learn from this and apologise. As for Babes Wodumo, she really has a good heart. Keep shining and we love you.”
Thulie Goniwe said: “What I learnt from this is that she did not want money, but an apology. Other celebrities would have wanted money. Therefore, I respect her for this.”
