Musicians who quit Ambitiouz Records due to financial disputes

Record company Ambitiouz Records artists produced the biggest hits. Due to financial disputes with the label, some left as they earned less than their worth. Kgosi Mahumapelo owns Ambitious Entertainment, and whenever there is a scandal, he claims he is always fair to his artists.

In 2015 he founded the company and signed artists we know as some of the best in Mzansi. Some of the artists included B3nchmarq, Miss Pru, Sjava and Amanda Black.

Here are some artists who left the record label with details of how and why they left.

Fifi Cooper

Refilwe Boingotlo Mooketsi is also known as the rapper Fifi Cooper. Fifi claimed she was receiving R20 000 every month from the label. She complained to the record label owner about the little money she was receiving. Meanwhile, she was getting booked and performing at a lot of events.

After complaining, she left the label and demanded all the money owed to her. She and her former boss had a back and forth until the EFF intervened and got her attorneys. She eventually got her cash, and they parted ways.

Intaba Yase Dubai

One of the artists featured in the song Imali Eningi by Big Zulu cried out to Mzansi for help. He posted on Facebook that the song he sang generated a lot of money, yet he is broke without a cent to his name. Ambitiouz later posted proof that he receives R3500 per month from them.

He made suicidal posts, but he decided to leave the label after his friends comforted him. He hasn’t been signed elsewhere currently.

Emtee

Emtee made dampening claims against the label. His biggest concern was ownership. The mansion he was living in wasn’t the same as the car. Emtee also complained about the owner taking his musical award trophies. He won a legal dispute and left the label.

Amanda Black

Songstress Amanda Black thought she was getting less than she received. When she raised management concerns, they told her to focus on the music and they’ll focus on the finances. She won a legal battle, and the court ruled the company owed her just under a million Rands. Her money was paid back, and she also left the label.
