Nota Baloyi claims that AKA’s album Levels never reached diamond status

Nota Baloyi has claimed that AKA album Levels has never reached diamond status. The controversial deputy chairman of The Recording Industry of South Africa (RISA) was speaking on the first episode of The Sobering Podcast’s fifth season. The music executive shared that the album released in 2014 has not reached diamond status yet. Supa Mega reportedly announced in July 2019 that Levels had been certified diamond which made him the first Mzansi hip-hop artist to reach those numbers. The opinionated music executive has disputed this. Nota said

“Yes it sold 300 000 copies but because when the album was released in 2014, Platinum was 40 000 not 30 000 and therefore it needs to get to 400 000 copies sold to reach actually diamond.”
